Big East had a terrible OOC Saturday

Been a disappointing season so far. Probably a 4-bid league at best with Marquette, Connecticut, St. John's, and maybe Creighton.

The entire BE (outside of UConn) will be adversely impacted by the NIL debacle. The football power conference are becoming basketball power conferences because of the NIL $$ generated from their football fan bases.Wait until the schools themselves are able to take monies and spend them against athletes to make the disparities even worse.

We are adversely impacted as well. Just less than the rest of the conference.

Agree. On another UConn point I watched the Gonzaga game and UConn is going to be held back this year by the lack of a great PG.Diarra seems more like an energy DAW type player than a PG.Mahaney, who I thought would be great, seems to be overwhelmed by higher level competition from a physical and skill perspective.Unless things change I'm not feeling a 3 peat.

This is accurate, it’s clear as day. But still need two good scorers and five solid rotation guys to be competive.

My perspective is that the FBall $ will stay with FBall teams not hoops teams at the FBall schools. The market will adjust. The $ for Kids like Davis from Non- FBall to a fall schools will not be there .. the back up QB will get those dollars. We still will need more NIL $.

Then why our SEC football schools like Alabama and Auburn all of a sudden BB powerhouses drawing kids from all over the country?

Short term bump. The Michigan HS QB just inked a $$10M NIL, the market for O linemen is nearing $1M per year. And there are 5-7 deep at that position. The $ to sustain FBall will leap frog hoops and we will be able to compete

As a poster noted elsewhere, paying players can come directly from the University starting in 2025. This needs to be a line item in the University budget, plus NIL funds.

Agreed, and Diarra played pretty well in the Gonzaga game. Dan Hurley got a big swing and a miss on Aidan Mahaney, who buy all accounts is a terrific kid . He's had his (relatively few) moments, but it seems like he's in over his head. I think he may be a basketball example of the Peter Principal. He seems to struggle with the speed and physicality of high major basketball.

Look for more plays to get run through the front court, particularly Karaban and McNeeley.
