Big if True on Rev Share

I couldnt' read it because I am not a subscriber. Nonetheless, the Big East should not just pay these kids because we now have more money. We would literally be driving up the price for no reason.

Just look at football...All 16 qbs in the SEC last year were making more money than Brock Purdy. It is just ludicrous. This is the equivalent of when dot.com stocks that never made a dollar of profit were trading at $100. And then the market crashed.

Thought this was funny. I live in an area with a significant number of Penn State alumni that have done well professionally. Was talking about NIL yesterday and one of the guys said he’ll stop donating to the school if they give any money to the basketball program. From his perspective, it should all go to football and maybe some to wrestling. I had to laugh.

FYI, Penn State just earned national championship in wrestling and blew away the field.

and just had the star from Jersey de-commit from where he was going (I forget) and commit to Penn State.

Wrestling is serious stuff there...

Basketball is arguably the no. 3 sport there. Wrestling is a runaway no. 1 but men's hockey is very successful and has a beautiful on-campus hockey arena in Pegula Ice Center.

Oh yea it’s big for sure. There are really only 4-5 programs that can really compete for a national title (Penn State, Ohio State, Iowa, Oklahoma State) and then the rest.

It will be interesting to see how wrestling fares in the NIL and transfer portal era. There are only 77 D1 wrestling programs, and a few are on the verge of being shut down. The NCAA better do something because before you know it, there won’t be any teams outside of the Big10, it’s a sport that needs all the support it can get.

Early transfers have been pretty crazy, and smaller schools like Rider will struggle, which is a shame.

I’ll still never get over Seton Hall canning our wrestling program.

I didn’t realize there were so few programs. Wow

Bball is pretty low on the totem pole. For the few that like college basketball it is definitely frustrating but unsurprising.

Penn State has been good since my father was three year varsity heavyweight and eastern intercollegiate heavyweight champion in his senior year.
