Here we go again….won’t know the winner for days. This is why people lose faith in election integrity. In this day an age with all the technology and available options there is no excuse for this to keep happening.
totally agree. odd though, the dem race was called by 8pm. Republican race still going? what gives? of course its super close.
What is wrong? Every legal casted vote should count. PA had early voting.

There is no reason to not be able to declare a winner within 2-3 hours of polls closing.

There is a difference between "calling" and the actual final result.
Simply math allowed Fetterman to be "called" the winner. By 8PM there were less uncounted votes that his lead at the time.
They will be counted. It just won't matter because there are not enough outstanding votes to catch the winner.
My county (Lancaster) is one of the culprits. I think there are 22,000 ballots that were cast with a faulty bar code.
We moved here from Lehigh County last year and discovered that Lancaster still does paper ballots. You mark the ballot with a pen and then insert it into a scanner which scans and keeps the ballot.
My wife told me they are going to hand copy the ballots to ones with a valid bar code and rescan them.
They did have candy dishes at the polling place and I grabbed a couple of Tootsie Rolls....which is nice.
I often wondered why people with little chance to win keep running.
After being close to a local candidate a few years ago, I discovered that any funds left over from the campaign can remain in the campaign fund indefinitely. These funds can then be contributed to other people running for office in the future. So if you lose and still have a bunch of money, you can now buy influence, favors, and jobs and there is noting illegal about it.

It really is sad how politics has continued to devolve, but if we keep rewarding these idiots, what do you expect? They don't care that they have approval ratings that would drive any company out of business. Pat Toomey, a smart, decent, and compassionate man, is going to be replaced by Fetterman, McCormick or Oz all of which which make the three stooges look competent. PA is fast becoming NJ.

I have met with Josh Shapiro a few times. He struck me as good person, certainly an intelligent one. He is politically astute. I'd vote for him before Fetterman.
Oz is the most sane candidate on the Rep side lol. i thought lamb was the least crazy candidate overall. i dont know what to make of fetterman. not too many progressive candidates that have held people up at gunpoint
Since you are in PA, so you have a feeling why Lamb didn’t get traction to beat Fetterman? From his resume, he would seem to be a perfect candidate.
my guess, as stated above, progressives/radicals seem to win the primary. candidates that can "counter" the radical (other side). and PA has the craziest rep candidates.
lamb also did very little advertising. fetterman did more, but is also a walking advertisement with his appearance. he sticks out. i wouldnt be surprised if people didnt know who lamb was.
Good question, and one I have discussed with a number of politicians here. Lamb had the luxe and résumé of a candidate that comes out of central casting. Had a little to do with advertising as he also ran a lot of TV ads and his messaging was primarily around Is record of beating Trump candidates.
The feeling is Pennsylvanians in general or sick and tired of traditional politicians. For instance, Allentown and Bethlehem both elected younger mayors last year that are not politicians by background. I happen to like both of them. So it’s not all bad.
there’s actually a feeling that Fetterman will actually appeal to Trump supporters, if you can believe that.
a working class guy not afraid to racially profile and use his gun... if they try to smear him with that i think hell actually gain some far right trumper votes.
Big personalities are appealing to voters. There is old saying that people get the government/politicians that they deserve.
I think that goes back to the low approval ratings of politicians. If they just did their job, we wouldn’t be here. Mainstream Dems don’t care that Lamb beat some low level Trump candidates. They see him as business as usual.
That is the crux of it. We moved terribly far away from original intent and purpose of "the job". It has morphed into a 24 x 7 x 365 celebrity show with the reward of big money.
Once the dems realized by vote harvesting in key cities you could legally swing an election as they did with the group Zucheberg financed to the tune of $400 million in 2020.They got the voting in Milwaukee up to 89% from it’s standard 65% and corrected the ballots that were filled incorrectly and since many of the extra voters were unfamiliar with elections they only voted for Biden no other races how strange.

This just shows the hold Trump still has on the republican party. Trump can win the 2024 nomination based on this, particularly because of who primary voters usually are (extremists of both parties).
