One of the last from the Greatest Generation. Soldier, Policitian, Statesman, Patriot. I was in middle school/ starting of high school for campaign and election of 1996. Worlds away from how things are now.

This was a very good man. War hero who suffered for the rest of his life. Didn't let that get in the way and accomplished a lot with his Kansas fairness and toughness. Worked across the aisle a lot. A big loss for the country when he left politics. They don't make them like Bob Dole anymore.
