Major brands? Not really--you do have to do a little digging. I can tell you some recent purchases tho:seems like youre plugged in. i googled list of usa made brands. i found this site that seems pretty comprehensive, but doesnt have new balance listed. i also know basically none of these brands.
looks like the problem is that MiUSA isnt readily accessible to the average consumer. you have to go out searching for them. aint gonna happen.
do you have a known list of major brands you shop from?
forgot to link the site.

i just mean any brands you personal gravitate towards. could be any product. i dont know anything off the top of my head.
thanks. yea i think this is the problem. i think a lot of americans will try to buy MiUSA but theyre not going to go on a covert mission to rip out one or two items.Major brands? Not really--you do have to do a little digging. I can tell you some recent purchases tho:
Council Tool--just got an awesome hatchet from them
Allen Edmonds--not all, but a lot of MiUSA shoes that will last and probably be cheaper in the long run than Macys shoe that lasts a year or two. Alden too but they are outside of my price range.
LL Bean--most is not MiUSA but their excellent floormats are. Also recently got MiUSA socks from them.
Like I said, you have to do a little research but it is worth it to me. I find my MiUSA is usually better quality than stuff made in Asia.
KP, i have been a chevy/GM guy, family cars through decades were GM as well. Sorry to tell you any sensor even oem and not aftermarket that you may ever need made in China. My parents dryer stopped drying about 6 months back. Their coverage on the unit had ended. American made. Looked up what causes this. Saw two components. Both were available non oem on Amazon. Both made in China.Lawnmower I went with Cub cadet whuch manufactures in USA. Chainsaw, weed wacker, lead blower I went with echo which also manufactures in Illinois. I bought a Chevy truck that is made in Missouri, has some foreign components but majority are USA. Clothes dryer also made in USA, brand is escaping me .
Does Nike need to make $145 profit on a pair of sneakers that they sell for $150? How about they just make 125 to account for the labor cost here? And we all should be willing to pay more for an American made product. It means our fellow countrymen have access to good jobs. Manufacturing jobs are what built this country, not wall street. You should not need a college degree to earn a living. If Nike would bring back jobs to America they could provide valuable jobs to inner cities. Imagine Nike manufacturing in Newark, Flint, etc. I'll gladly pay 20% more for a product made in USA.
Did many us companies need to furlough or lay off honest, hard working loyal people amid pandemic? Likely in some cases not really. But profit margins and profit share bonuses for those at the very top.Does Nike need to make $145 profit on a pair of sneakers that they sell for $150? If you're taking fortune 500... probably not as they simply moved to a WFH model. Smaller companies absolutely had to for survival. If your business wasn't considered essential or couldn't move to work from home how can you pay someone when the company is closed? Unfortunately I was effected as the company work for lost 1/3 of their business within a week of the shutdowns. Laid off 1/4 of staff shortly after.Did many us companies need to furlough or lay off honest, hard working loyal people amid pandemic? Likely in some cases not really. It really all comes down to pricing. My wife has been involved in sourcing and production for over 30 years. Her company can retail a t-shirt made in China, India or Pakistan for $14.99. The same quality tee made in the US would have to retail for $26.99 to produce the same profit margins. The question becomes how much more are Americans willing to pay to take a moral stand?
Most major companies will not launch a new profit if they cannot make at min 25% off of it. Then the store must make at min 30% off of it, it’s called the cost of doing business.Or maybe the market will decide what the price is and clothing retailers won't mark up their products at obscene margins.
of course not. but i got some good info out of this thread.Day 2 of piratecrew Nike boycott. So far, no difference made. Will check back tomorrow.
Hello? Moderator?
hahaWhy does a Villanova fan care what is posted on a Seton Hall message board? Oh, that's right, it's because you disagree with it.
Don't you have any more Villanova recruits to tell us about?
Why are some here divisive to our fellow conference member fans?haha
@ceballoj if you dont like it youre free to go somewhere else. nobody is forcing you to be on this site, let alone this thread. in fact im sure most people encourage the opposite.

That’s because you don’t read LOTS. Grab your popcorn and go over, it’s watching the same 6 people in this thread but more vicious. This is the most ridiculous thread I have ever seen.
Because he, like others, pays for this board. Go have your pissing matches on Life Off The Ship. Why does a Villanova fan care what is posted on a Seton Hall message board? Oh, that's right, it's because you disagree with it.

It’s his board too, he’s a paying subscriber. This thread should never have been started in the trove. A stretch for the free board, appropriate for LOTS, downright stupid to be on here. Nova fan or other, no one wants to see this shit on a pay board except the 6 people who do this all day on LOTS.because he came on our board and complained for no reason

After reading the posts on my thread i realized that posters made a good point about many Americans will opt for cheaper Chinese manufactured brands. I was specifically talking Nike. Personally i was never a fan. My New Balance shoes get good milage and they are made in USA. They generally don't cost any more than Nike. I get them in Royal Blue too!. But as for products in general, this great country of ours is capable of helping other countries develope manufacturing options. Look at Viet Nam, India, and South /Central America. I am tired of China. Everytime i think of what they have done to us and the rest of the world i get very angry. F China. Not because of their embrace of Kaeperick, but because the shoes are made in China by slave laborers. I think Nike needs to bring their manufacturing home.
I won't be insulted if you don't read my post.I come here for basketball, Seton Hall basketball. Not for thinly veiled political statements. Its not even all that entertaining. There's not real interest in China. This whole thing should have been stopped early.
its not on the pay board. calm down buddy. It’s his board too, he’s a paying subscriber. This thread should never have been started in the trove. you and others are willingly making the choice to go into this thread. its like the imbecile mask protestors who cry like babies when theyre told to wear masks in a private establishment. ur free to go to another store, or in this case another thread. theres other ones than this without even having to scroll. a daunting task i know
That is accurate and what has brought on ESG investing. Bezo took a little heat in his virtual testimony to congress the other day about Amazon's business practices. As long as profit motivates our society, there will be exploitation at some point along the supply chain of almost any sufficiently large brand. Slave labor, prison labor, unfair labor deals or inhumane working conditions are the most direct ways for big companies to get more profit out of their product. Voting with your wallet helps to a degree, but so does voting with your vote! Any presidential or senatorial candidate is flush with corporate money, but find local politicians who support local business and won’t sell out their city for Amazon factories and the like

Pac 12 has had an ongoing China Games opening series in basketball for seasonsRight on. Until there is more going on it doesn't hurt to digress abit about something that fans might talk about. And speaking of China, i hope we neve send another college team over there to play against them. Remember when Georgetown BB players had a fight with their Chinese opponents? i think that started up over racial slurs directed at the Georgetown players. Not sure.
Agree. We get what we deserve...keep voting strictly on party line and you have no one to blame but yourself. As long as profit motivates our society, there will be exploitation at some point along the supply chain of almost any sufficiently large brand.
