I share his opinion. There's a fascinating part at about 24 minutes in where Jerry mentions Seton Hall's NIL budget (1.5 million) is in stark contrast to the 3 million budget for most other teams in the league, and 5 million for the top tier BE teams. He adds:
"That gap has to close or Seton Hall has to just not play in that league. Like, if you're not going to make an effort to close that gap, them just get out of the Big East."
Rough to hear it so bluntly, but can't really argue either.
Fanbase needs to hear it bluntly. That’s the biggest problem is that we have been skating around it for the past two years provided reassurance we are not behind when clearly we were. I can only hope that like Jerry said the St John’s game was a wake up call to the powers that be that this is unacceptable. There's a fascinating part at about 24 minutes in where Jerry mentions Seton Hall's NIL budget (1.5 million) is in stark contrast to the 3 million budget for most other teams in the league, and 5 million for the top tier BE teams. And I think the response to this potential wake-up call will be a pressing of the snooze button. Perhaps a couple of times.Fanbase needs to hear it bluntly. I don’t know about that. When fans stop showing up because the team is not losing that’s going to impact the University’s pockets and there will have to be changes made. I just can’t believe that with this historically bad season that there will not be significant changes made to the program. And I think the response to this potential wake-up call will be a pressing of the snooze button. I hope you're right. I want to believe that. I really do. But I doubt much if anything will change.I don’t know about that. Did the message get across? What the heck have they been waiting for???It’s definitely crunch time. As Carino said, inadvertently or not, Pitino did Sha and SHU a great favor by bluntly stated the harsh reality.
