Bubble and Expansion of Field

John Rothstein said the same thing. I still don't understand how teams like NC are on the bubble and get in. I get it they played a really good schedule, but they didnt win any of those games. They win a couple of games in the ACC tournament and did I see right the are still 1-11 in Q1?

Texas is 6 and 12 in their conference and did nothing in their out of conference schedule. It's ridiculous that they are on the bubble. They should not be in the tournament unless they win their conference tournament.

Because they are UNC. :)

In fairness to them they are 8-0 in Quad 2 games, and they played a brutal OOC schedule. Out of the teams that they played, only two of them (at Pitt, at Wake) are outside of the top 30. Contrast that with Xavier, which is 2-9 in Q1 games and 7-2 in Quad2 games, but only 5 of the Quad1 games were against teams inside of the top 30. If they beat Duke they will have the same amount of Quad1 wins as Xavier does.

And dont forget who this year's chairperson is...the unc AD...although some of the board have tried to disprove influence on the selection committee there are conspiracy theorists here

Deserve a reward for OTC games --wish SHU would follow suit --losing to Duke better than losing to Monmouth /Fordham

SH’s days if NCAA appearances are going to be as frequent as RUs have been historically - maybe 1 in every 10 years thanks to NIL.

Oh wait, if NC beats Duke without Cooper Flagg does it count?

If they beat Duke without Flagg and Brown? And the committee held beating UConn without Clingan against us. I get their scheduling, but they don't deserve the consideration. And I don't believe all the conspiracy theories. This is just wrong and UVA getting in last year was wrong flat out wrong.

UNC has either one or zero Q1 wins. But yeah, they’re an NCAAT team.
I don’t think they are either but NET of 35 matters when that’s the premier metric. It’s stupid but that’s the metric the NCAA uses. Everyone knows that before, during and after the season.

It’s not like they changed the game mid way to hurt Seton Hall or help UNC. It’s the system. Our 7 blowout losses compared to their 3rd tonight really hurt our metrics.

I agree. It is so much about NET and the manipulation of the NET. Last year the Big 12 and MWC manipulated the NET and took advantage of it. Even Seth Greenberg said so. SHU is going to need to schedule to take advantage of NET. Even if last year the 3 OT loss to Creighton at home was a win I am not sure it would have made any difference to the committee . SDSU was 4-10 Q1 last year and got in

SHUHoopsFan, did you put the whammy on Duke or what?

wish I put it on them in the S16 in 92. Hope I’m wrong but I expect UNC in the tournament because of their NET. NCAA won’t admit their NET system sucks. Also not a believer of changing the system mid year so NET was the system going in that was going to be relied upon. It should be used now

UNC 2025 is Seton Hall 2024. Really bad out of conference, a fluffy 13-7 in conference.
