Budd Clark - MF's a gangster

Here's hoping. He looks the part. Has some metrics that are legit and far above the crop of mid-major players we brought in last year: Clark was 12th in the country in % of minutes played, 3rd in usage rate, 3rd in assist rate (42.6 to 15.1 A:T rate), 21st in steal rate. These are impressive numbers. When you watch him play you see what we were missing, but it's a big step up so we'll see. Practicing against the bigger Garwey Dual will help him too.

For the type of style Holloway plays, we need players who can drive and create, especially at guard and we did not have that at all this past season, thus a big reason we had historically inept team.

Hoping to see a lot of crisp PNRs and drive-dish-dunks between Clark and Erheriene. 👍

I don’t doubt Clark is a very good pick up for us. I just find it extremely unlikely anyone at the Final Four, let alone the coaches there, are raving about him. Sounds like some serious hyperbole and, after last season, I think that’s the last thing we need in regards to who we manage to get.
Maybe I’m missing the hyperbole. I saw a poster sharing data/facts about his stats at Merrimack and another poster saying that maybe he can lead us to the NCAAs (which includes 68 teams).
I don’t find either to be over the top positive but I’m sure I missed something. That’s what we do here at piratecrew in the offseason.

My apologies, Halldaze. I totally skipped the quote from the original article! Ugh. Yeah that is some smoke up the ass.

That coach should consider poetry. Really paints a picture.

The Final Four attracts coaches from all over the country. It's sort of like a convention/job fair for them.

Yeah, I understand it’s more than just the four head coaches there, thanks. I’ve never claimed to be an expert, but I didn’t start following college hoops just yesterday either.

My point was that, while it’s certainly a positive pick up for us(and I am looking forward to seeing him play for us), it’s hardly going to set the college basketball world ablaze with discussion. It may have created some minor buzz, but not much else. This was not the big splash that other schools in the conference are making. The positive spin is nice, but it’s definitely hyperbole. The move is most definitely not making waves at the Final Four. We don’t need to be there to know this. I don’t think that’s too hard to understand.
