Caden Diggs jumped to No. 92 in the recent 2024 On3 150 update. The 6-foot-7 Potomac (MD) Bullis School wing has averaged 15.1 points this summer while shooting 36 percent from three with the New World program on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit.
“I’m a versatile wing who can defend the one through the four,” Diggs told On3. “I try to watch a lot of DeMar DeRozan, how he gets to his spots and how he defends, I’ve really started to take pride in my defense, and it’s really opened my game up.”
On3 spoke with the four-star Caden Diggs after a recent live viewing to talk about his recruitment.

Diggs talks visits

“I’ve taken an official visit to Iowa; that’s my only one so far,” Diggs said.
Iowa: “The team culture really stood out. Everyone seemed so comfortable with one another, the culture was great. They all ate over at the coach’s house. I got to sit with them, be around them and see how they all interacted. I liked it a lot.
“Our relationship has continued to grow since the visit. They’re real with me. They let me know how I’m playing and what I need to improve on. They like to get up and down. They’re a more offensive-minded team, so if I can come in and bring defensive versatility, then it could be a great fit.”

Diggs talks recruitment

I’m talking with Oklahoma State and Seton Hall about setting up a visit,” Diggs said.

Seton Hall: “They’re in the Big East; I’ve always liked watching the Big East. I’m close with Coach Ra (Rasheen Davis). They get up and down and play a lot of defense. I feel like I fit in with their style of play.”

Oklahoma State: “We’ve really just gotten in touch, Coach (Terrence) Rencher. They like my versatility and how I defend.”

In his words

“After this live period, I’m looking to narrow things down,” Diggs said. “Then, at the end of August, I’m hoping to commit.

“I’m going to be looking at the play-style, of course, but also a place that I can fit in. Like, with the community. I like to play up and down, run, and push in transition. I like a system that doesn’t have a lot of plays but a lot of quick sets and reads with some freedom. My dad, Donnail Diggs, played at Hartford with Vin Baker and then Howard.”

That’s an interesting combination of schools. Doesn’t sound like he’s expanding it much either.
