Capitalism and Branding in 2021

I’m down 20 pounds utilizing a South Beach low carb diet. We are doing meatless dinners three days a week. My shoulder has been bothering me…an old partially torn rotator cuff that has acted up and may need repair. Tendinitis in my right elbow that my wife has diagnosed as golfers elbow (meaning I should play less golf). Think I’m going to consult a real physician on Tele-Doc.

I’m sure this post will get thousands of views….riveting, right?
i actually enjoyed hearing this lol

You're the dick for defending the attention starved automatron retweeting kumbayah lunatic.

If he wants to give a running account of his medical woes he can start another thread. Or is it that because he's having some health issues we can't question anything he says because he's a victim.

Send me your address and I'll send you a copy of the CD of my cardio myopathy with obstruction MRI.

Just stay in your lane and stick to your Trump hating liberal rants.
LOL youre the tom to his jerry

When you say meatless, does that include fish too? I was considering getting TB12 meals for lunch as finding options other than salads seems to be getting more difficult. How are your energy levels since the switch? If you can, can you give some insight on how much water are you drinking per day? I've given up coffee. Sad to say alcohol may be getting cut down big time to keep hydration levels up. I'll stick with a couple clear alcohol drinks on weekends and that's it.

I normally need to do the diet thing coming out of the holiday's (big family meals, parties, too many carbs/sweets around the house). We do a hybrid South Beach diet that works for us because we generally like the food options/choices. I don't believe in starving yourself or eating foods that you don't like because they fit in a certain diet that makes claims.

To answer your question, we'll eat red meat, chicken or fish as a protein 3-4 days a week and then meatless the other 3-4 days (legumes as the protein). My wife has found some great recipes and to be honest, I like the meatless dishes more. Simple too. Cauliflower "steaks" parmigiana, grilled cabbage steaks with pine nuts and romano cheese, deconstructed eggplant parm, spaghetti squash, with olives, feta, etc. I still drink coffee, although for the diet, we cut down on alcohol (red wine or a martini..lol). Don't drink that much water (probably 2-3 bottles a day) in addition to the coffee or a diet coke with dinner. Fill in with a Keto shake or nuts as a snack. Breakfast is a half apple with peanut butter during the week and eggs/meat on the weekend.

Cutting down the carbs dramatically is the difference maker. I have the same/more energy and don't get that carb-fog after a meal. I do like certain breads and pasta, but I could pass on anything with potatoes or rice normally. Finally, we use our fitbits as a barometer. Minimum 12k steps per day, but normally hit 20k+ 2-3 days per week (elyiptical, bike, golf-walking, etc.).

I'm not a fan of following a diet like a madman...you need to do what works for you...it's really about developing good eating habits. I love a bag of chips like anyone, but it's all about moderation (which is not easy).

the easiest thing is not to buy bad food at the grocery store. laziness always prevails when youre jonesing for a snack.

you should try mushroom burgers. and alternative pasta that uses lentils or brown rice or peas etc. its just as good although im not a diegard pasta fanatic.

letting yourself indulge a bit on the weekends is important imo. gotta live a little.

I typically do 2 meals a day no meat. Breakfast is generally oatmeal with pecans and banana. The nutribullet in the office allows me to have a smoothie of almond milk, banana, and frozen cherries or berries for a mid morninh or mid afternoon snack. Lately I've been having reactions to nightshades so I've been having bland salads or occassionally a chicken sandwich with a pesto mayo for lunch. Occassionally we hit up the local taco place that makes brussel sprout burritos, but that can make it a long afternoon between the beans and brussel sprouts. After that I try to get 3 miles in with a few pushups, squats, burpees, etc. After that I want something hearty so I tend to eat my meat meal with a good amount of carbs like rice and sweet potatos with animal protein mainly fish.

So this is a good example of doing something right, but doing what works for you in terms of taste and schedule. I admire you for two meals a day...I would struggle with that. My future son-in-law does intermittent fasting which I just couldn't do. Brussel sprout burrito sounds delish.

No mocking at all. If the thread morphs into a health and wellness thread, I'm 100% for it.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty obvious....you asked some interesting questions and I responded. Not sure what to read into that.
