Carino on Kadary Richmond

I'd agree the communication was poor but I'm loath to accuse a player of not wanting to play in that spot if he is able. I'm in no position to judge and neither are you. As you say yourself, he played through other issues. I think it's apparent he felt he couldn't go.
Well listening to Sha speaking about it when it happened, it sounded like he found out within hours of game time. Extremely odd even by seton hall standards. I mean didn’t they practice between games? He wasn’t injured during practice. Again beyond odd and seton hall has set the bar high on odd behavior over the years.

My read on the situation is that Shaheen wants to build the toughest team in the league and becomes frustrated when guys do things that conflict with the mission. I view Sha calling Kadary "general soreness" similar to Pitino calling his guys "slow laterally." Two passive aggressive ways to express frustration with a team's lack of toughness.

Well you got me on the Willard prediction. I didn’t realize how terribly the NIL would affect the sport. If you have enough money you can win regardless. He still doesn’t have an offense but when you can pay really good players that makes your offense look functional.
Did Willard get lucky twice or is it that maybe he’s actually a good coach?

You may be right about the wording, but not knowing he was out until an hour before the game is very bizarre. People love the honesty of Sha, but honesty can be curse too. I mean blaming the schedule would've been a better option than having people ask how do you not know your star player is out until an hour before the game. Sounds like we didn't gameplan at all without Kadary. A lot of people called BS when I think Cam Reddish decided last minute he wasn't playing in a game. No issue with people calling BS on this too.

Kadary on this time this year, would have held him back from the success he should have. I cannot root for SJU since the Carnaseca issue with Glen Mosley.

If it was, it had the opposite effect of Pitino's famous comment last year.

This. A very odd situation to not have your best, All-BE player and not be prepared for it? And Sha either assumed or hoped or figured Richmond would play then got caught bc we lost at home to Providence and his explanation made Richmond look soft. It also spurred all the NIL/transfer talk.

Sha is not good at accepting the modern day player IMO. He complains about their toughness constantly and at this level in this era of free agency it couldn’t be more different than St. Peter’s 4 years ago. In fact his general negativity all the time - even last year - doesn’t go over well. I hope he wises up a bit. His heart’s in the right place by its time to adapt and grow professionally.
