Carino Preview & Attends Practice

Jerry did his best to spin this as a positive article but this was a very tough report. Our two most talented players are nursing injuries, one of our main center rotation options is out indefinitely, and we have no set rotation or even starting lineup 3 days before our first game as a result

I am certainly no pollyanna but I don't share the doom and gloom sentiments I'm seeing here. Sha's demonstarted an ability to get his teams to rise well above the sum of their parts. So despite the injury situation I am cautiously optimistic that this will turn out to be an NCAA bubble squad. I just have faith in Sha.

Agree . Games are won on court not pre-season predictions or on paper..

I saw it the same way. Sha is about as genuine and transparent as you will find in a coach. He sees something in this team and that’s good for me. Outside of Okorafor, none of the injuries sound serious.

I’m sure the last thing Sha wanted was for Jerry to predict this as a NCAA tournament team.

Look who's crying wolf! LOL

Okarafur had a "dehydration incident?" How does that keep you indefinitely on the sidelines? Jerry think we might not even make the NIT, sheesh.

I also didn’t walk away with it negatively. This is life with roster turnover. Who really knows? No familiarity, no track record with the program, no continuity.

Plus on the injuries, is it really any surprise that we have players missing offseason practice and never get the whole roster together for long periods? For whatever reason, this is the way it is now in college sports. Going back to the end of the Willard Era it was the same story. Certainly in Sha’s 3 offseasons as well. Year after year. Constant. And not just Seton Hall. Go light in practice, go hard in practice, it’s proven to not matter now.

I feel pretty good about what Sha’s assembled for the 1-4 spots. I’m factoring Middleton as a stretch-4 with Aligbe the complement piece there. Center still looks like scary. Hope we don’t get killed in the paint. I’m going to go 18-13, 9-11.

I think we have a good chance to be on the bubble. We have far too many really talented tall wings to not do damage.

Problem is I see our lack of a true big man holding us back. We’ve seen what an advantage that can be. Maybe we play a 3-2 zone to mitigate?
