In dire need of backcourt reinforcements, Seton Hall has filled its final open scholarship for 2015-16 with point guard Jevon Thomas, a Kansas State transfer who has to sit out next season per NCAA transfer rules.

But multiple sources told Gannett New Jersey there could be more roster movement that would open the door for a guard with immediate eligibility............

my guess is either Sanogo or another one of our front court players transfers out.

It's either Ish or one of the recruits doesn't make it here. Anthony and Ajou have already redshirted a year and leaving wouldn't make sense for either of them.

trying to hit lightening in a bottle like they did with Gibbs with the Thomas signing. I don't have a problem with it but using it as your last scholarship is very puzzling though....

This team is so poorly constructed for this season. How can Willard in his 6th year have no seniors, 2 juniors (both who transferred into the program - Ajou/Anderson), and doesn't have a true PG (and didn't have a true PG last season). So, now we probably have to go get a PG (who is probably getting lower level offers) and have another guy transfer our of the program. It's just getting tiresome here.

Willard has never recruited a Big East Quality Point Guard. The only point guard he ever had was one he inherited with Jordan Theodore. This man is a joke of a coach.

Don't forget that you don't have to sit out a year transferring to a Div. 2 or 3 program. I don't know if either of those two is transferring, but that would be move for them if they transferred.

JT, Carter and IW in the same back court? That should make for an interesting locker room mix of personalities. We can sell the rights to Bravo or MTV for a reality television show. Maybe then we can buyout KW's contract?

That's true. Maybe Ajou takes the Augustine Okosun route and finishes up at an NAIA school. If what Dan says is true and Ish is returning, there aren't that many possibilities for how a scholarship could open up. I guess we just have to wait and see what happens.

Batts. Jevon Thomas has to sit out 1 yr, then he has 2 yrs left. Eli Carter would be ready this year and would have 1 yr.

Plus Carter fits the mold we all love of another player that has been committed to 4 schools at one time or another.

SPK Did you know that there are over 400 Division 1 basketball transfers already, on track to around 600.

SPK Did you have the talent to play college basketball?

Not even close. Never sat near Jerry Lucas either.

But I did hit a three-pointer once too. And I'm an accountant too. The similarities end there thankfully.

SPK never had the talent to play division 1 basketball...but that sure as heck wouldn't have stopped Willard from recruiting him at point guard!

Nah, even Willard isn't THAT bad a talent evaluator.
