Seton Hall (12-2) might get some scattered votes this week, but with a Kenpom of 42 the Pirates have to win at Villanova Wednesday to break into the poll.

I don't think they deserve any votes just yet. Let's see how they fare the next five games. They get an upset or two and you never know. But for now there are too many areas in SHU's game that need improving but I like our direction so far. I hope we crack the Top 25 in mid February. That would be the upward trajectory that I am hoping for.

I would sign up right now for 2-3 over the next 5 games (with zero blowouts)... Obviously I am hoping for more, but this is easily the most brutal 5 game stretch of the year.

at this point. how about we are a top 40 by the end of the season?

I would not think we are Top 25, and am not sure getting that nod would be good for us now.

But the only reason not to be on the list is cause 25 other teams are more deserving. If you look at that list, you can pick a couple with no more credentials than us.

I do not think we are worthy as yet.....and frankly, after last year....this can wait. Lets see how we do the next 5 games.....which could easily, and realistically, end at 1 - 4....which should NOT have people running for the exits. This is the toughest stretch of our schedule.....by far. To me, it is what happens AFTER these 5 games that will tell how good a team we are. If we get thru here with at least 1 win....or maybe 2....then reel off some wins afterward....we will have shown some maturity and the ability to "weather the storm" and maybe, just maybe, it is that resiliency that will earn us a ranking, somewhere in February

I'd rather see steady progress than a Popeye Spinach moment. A nice build as the season wears on will put us in good shape as the tourney approaches.

The committee always looks at the last bunch of games- although they claim they don't.

Forget the top 25. We really need to weather this upcoming storm. We'll be pretty heavy underdogs in 4 out of the next 5, and could easily lose all 5 (Creighton can beat anyone if they get hot). Can't start finger pointing, complaining about playing time, punching opposing players, or otherwise let things spiral out of control. The last 11 games set up very nicely if these guys can keep it together through this stretch.

I mean, it's a pretty big "if," but it would be impressive. It doesn't mean we're one of the best 25 teams, for sure, but if at the end of this week, Seton Hall is 14-2, it would be a justified ranking.
