Was there a deal?

We know that Christie & Booker are close even though they are from different partys and that their views on a number of issues are quite similar. It makes me wonder if they had a deal that Booker would not run for Governor and that neither would do anything to hamper the others campaign. It certaily benefits both if the each win by big margins to show personal popularity over party allegiance. I also note that Booker has not campaigned with Nancy Buono at all & I do not think he has even endorsed her. Christie gave Lonagan his endorsement out of necessity since he needs right wing support in his presidential bid but it is no secret that he & Lonagan detest each other and do not agree on many issues. Lonagan for example would not have voted to give NJ FEMA funding to help rebuild after Hurricane Sandy. (Very odd for a politician who wants to represent our state).

My guess. Yes there was a deal and both will benefit from it as most expect them to both win big.

Lonagan has sided with Rand Paul in his feud with Gov. Christie. Would it not be embarrassing for the Governor if Lonagan were elected and then supported someone other than Christie for President.

New Jersey Senate candidate Steve Lonegan (R) war of words with New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (R), and claimed that aid for the damage caused by Hurricane Sandy last fall was "over the top."

During an appearance on MSNBC's "Up W/Steve Kornacki," Lonegan said while he believes his former gubernatorial rival Christie is a "strong leader," he disagrees with the governor on several issues, including recovery funds for Hurricane Sandy.

"I disagree with Governor Christie and President Obama on Hurricane Sandy funding," he said. "I thought it was over the top. I thought it was too much money."

When asked about the governor's ongoing feud with Paul, Lonegan said he's "more on the side" of the Kentucky senator.
