Seton Hall is in the midst of a huge season and the 2020 recruiting class is not complete, but they are actively on the lookout for 2021 recruits already. Here is a list of some early top targets and who else is in the mix as of now.
Trey Patterson – 4-star PF – Rutgers Prep School (NJ)
Status: Long Shot
Primary Recruiter: Grant Billmeier
Patterson is one of the nation’s top recruits and a likely long shot for Seton Hall, but they continue to recruit the talented forward and they have hosted him for a couple of visits in the past year. Right now, I wouldn’t say there is a high likelihood here as schools like Florida, Indiana, UConn, Villanova and Xavier have the inside track.
Julian Reese – 4-star PF – St. Frances (MD)
Status: In the mix
Primary Recruiter: Tony Skinn
Reese is an athletic stretch-four with big time upside and a steadily growing offer list. Right now, Tony Skinn has SHU in the top list of schools along with Maryland and Virginia Tech. He has visited SHU previously and will likely get up for another game sometime soon if his schedule allows it.
Micawber Etienne – 4-star C – Suffield Academy (CT)
Status: Too soon to say
Primary Recruiter: Grant Billmeier
I believe Etienne is being recruited by both Grant and Duane Woodward and SHU is involved but he hasn’t taken many visits. His offer list continues to expand and right now, it is hard to say if SHU will be a major player.
Elijah Hutchins-Everett – 4-star C – Putnam Science Academy (CT)
Status: In the mix
Primary Recruiter: Duane Woodward
SHU has been recruiting Everett for a long time as he was originally a member of the 2020 class and SHU is high on him. Everett has interest in SHU but expect Miami to be a factor in the recruitment as well. Right now, SHU is one of the top schools for Everett and I’d expect them to remain a factor throughout. It is too soon to name any favorites though or make any predictions.
Kowacie Reeves – 4-star SG – Westside (GA)
Status: Long Shot
Primary Recruiter: Tony Skinn
SHU is a long shot for Reeves who has already scheduled three official visits (Clemson, Florida and Stanford) and hasn’t mentioned Seton Hall in some time.
Benny Williams – 4-star SF – St. Andrews School (MD)
Status: In the mix
Primary Recruiter: Tony Skinn
SHU has themselves very much in the picture for the wiry, big time scoring wing from Maryland. Tony Skinn has the relationship here and SHU along with schools like Syracuse and Florida figure to be the major players. He has already taken OVs to those two programs and plans on taking one to Seton Hall, although a date has not been set.
Ryan Conway – 4-star PG – Dulaney (MD)
Status: Top School
Primary Recruiter: Tony Skinn
SHU has put themselves in a great position early on for the 4-star PG from Maryland as they are one of, if not the, top schools for Conway. He has visited SHU twice, including for the Michigan State game, and he is very high on the Pirate program right now. Maryland or Villanova offers could shake things up for Conway, but as things stand now, SHU has a very strong chance.
Zion Harmon – 4-star PG – Marshall County (TN)
Status: In the mix
Primary Recruiter: Tony Skinn
SHU has made the top 8 for Harmon along with Louisville, Maryland, Western Kentucky, Kansas, LSU, Murray State, and Kentucky (no offer) but it is too soon to say how serious their chances are. Right now, the Maryland native is still taking his time and could take some visits this spring. The next step for SHU is to secure an official visit from the dynamic point guard.
Mekhi Beckett – NR SG – St. Anthony’s (NY)
Status: Top School
