New York, N.Y. -- Freshman Isaiah Coleman (Fredericksburg, Va.) has been named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week after averaging 10.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week for the Seton Hall men's basketball team.

Coleman is the first Pirate to be named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honor since Myles Powell on Nov. 21, 2016.

Coleman provided a spark off the bench for The Hall this past week where he shot 8-of-14 from the floor. He notched his first double-digit scoring night on Wednesday against UAlbany, dropping 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field and grabbing eight boards. He also dished out two assists, had two steals and tallied a block in his stat stuffind evening against the Great Danes. Coleman pitched in seven points of 3-of-5 shooting on Saturday in the win over Wagner.

The Pirates will hit the road for the first time this season next week when they head to the Rady Children's Invitational in San Diego from Nov. 23-24. Seton Hall will open with No. 16 USC on Thanksgiving Day at 5:30 p.m. EST on FS1. On Friday, The Hall will face either Iowa or Oklahoma on FOX or FS1. Both games will be broadcast on the Seton Hall Pirates Basketball Radio Network on the SHU Pirates Mobile App, SHUPiraes.com, Varsity Network, SiriusXM and the SiriusXM app.

Awesome and well deserved. He earned it just with his D and rebounding. But the points were nice too.

Way to go! Keep working and improving. The conference won’t be like what you’ve seen.

It’s always special when the Player Of The Week is a freshman especially in the sport that attracts the most attention and that we can be successful on the recruiting trail. Great job Isaiah !

Very cool, particularly with limited minutes. Have to imagine there were freshman in consideration that play larger roles on their respective teams.

Of past pirates who does he remind you of?

He seems to want to dunk everything like Desi but might be a little more athletic.

Haven't had a good look at his shot yet, everything seems to be in transition.

Sha needs to keep pushing him and coaching him up. No reason we can’t have a legit star freshman. It’s the name of the game in college basketball and we need to get with the times.

That is wonderful, we may have another special guy here! Hope we all stay excited about the team.

When he breaks the 0-3 streak on dunks it will be thunderous!

He is the sixth man.
