From the free board Coleman thread. Was going to post there but didn’t want to give Coleman’s agents any extra ammo.
My thought is Seton Hall must overpay and keep Coleman.
The #1 reason to do it: is not for for his play or potential. We lost our best players two years in a row and this would be 3. This can’t become a seton hall thing or we never get to the level we want. Every year agents will hound our roster and know we won’t pay. Whether true or not, all media and fans thing we have no NIL money or very very limited. We need to change the narrative starting with Coleman. In my mind, it doesn’t even matter if he is worth it with his play. Seton hall created this perception and they need to fix by overpaying players. They also need to make at least 1 big name transfer splash with a top 50 transfer besides keeping Coleman.
As far as the play of Coleman. I like him, not as good as Samuel, Dre or Richnond.
Shooting percentage is bad, need to set his feet better runnig on screens, his FT shooting sucked last gsme but overall ok. He needs to play better defense by being more physical (get stronger)…but I think he is could be a great 2nd best player, 2 guard and in a pinch a PG and is okay at the 3.
