not used to seeing “Commit” that much any more on these boards.
Well, he hits his free throws. That's something. Not much else to tell from that video. Looks like he's got some nice footwork and tenacity, but he's playing some stiffs so it's hard to get a feel.
Well - the good news is we did not need to dip into NIL funds (as i am ignorantly assuming that since he is international, he can't get NIL).
Is nobody concerned by this video? I don’t think this resembles anything close to a high D1 player.

He is coming. We DM’d a week back when I saw he followed seton hall. Texted him today and he said he would see me on campus, honestly think he’s a pretty solid shooting PF. His older tape doesn’t show it-his newer stuff on the U-19 team is pretty impressive, offensively. He’ll be used to space the offense a little this year. Not much on defense, but a good project.
I believe some are overreacting to the YouTube clip. It's not a highlight reel, it's just a single game that highlights all of his scores and rebounds. Looks like he had a decent game there.
FWIW, he made Honorable Mention in the All-Turkish U19 League in 2023. He averaged 14.2 PPG, 9.0 RPG and 2.1 APG. His FT% was 68.5% and the most 3s he's hit in a game is 2 with just a 19% 3P%, so the 2023 stats don't paint a picture of a dominant outside threat. His career high game was 33 points and 15 rebounds.

This is a misconception, international players can form a business in their homeland and NIL funds are paid to that business.
He may get very little to start as he needs to prove his worth.
Paging Enes Freedom or formerly Kanter. Can you give us a report on your countrymen? He can hit his free throws - that's a plus. Seeing Enes is not ballin in the NBA, maybe he can school Arda on low block moves. Clutching at straws on a summer evening. Other than that, I've got NIL.
As I understand the rules, an international player cannot participate in a domestic event and receive payment. That would violate the visa the student/athlete uses to come to the US.
So, if HHOD does a meet and greet at Primo Hoagies, that player would be unable to cash in. Said player would be able to cash in on his NIL on non-US soil.

I have a bit more tolerance for it when it is a current student doing so, and if I recall correctly, the poster in question is an undergrad.
In general, though, I totally agree.

It is a different world today. The younger generation does everything via social media. The player can also choose to privatize his DM's if he doesn't want to receive random messages. Obviously he has not, so he is open to them.

I would just like to give context and say I am a student and Turkish too. We have also a few mutuals in Spain and turkey so I figured I’d reach out. I don’t think it’s out of pocket for me to dm him. If I was 60 years old and DMing him it’d be weird but the guy is going into his freshman year and followed nobody from seton hall yet. I’m pretty sure it’s not a problem lol, he seemed to welcome a friendly gesture from a fellow student. Don’t read into it too much
