Commitment

Why do you guys continually expect us to believe that number.? Every piece of evidence the last 3 weeks screams the exact opposite. On top of that, I’m not sure what fundraising the past year would have got us anywhere close to that.

The only place we see or hear 5-6mil is here. No evidence, just gets repeated here every time the fans are disappointed by a new commitment….

That number only comes from this board and Carino who repeats the company line. Everyone who covers college basketball nationally laughs at us for having no money and then we see these signings. Do the math.

It's looking more and more like this past season win total is going to be harder and harder to beat. Maybe 2024/25 will become the good times at Seton Hall. At least the roster was filled with kids who had potential up sides and were highly regarded.

We can only hope that the next 3 to 5 kids that come have that otherwise we are in deep doo doo for this upcoming season.

So wait we got a reserve player in Fordham coming in? Let’s go! Probably what happened is Holloway said “I’ll offer you this amount” and the player took it right away because no other HM was going to offer him any money… if Rivera said I’ll come for this much, Holloway would tell him to walk… no one dictates terms to sha

thought we would be going with a cobra Kai approach this offseason since last year was sooooooooooooo bad. Spend big to be decent again. Show fans they are serious.

Kept best player - no

Make GM/AC/fundraising/media moves- no

Keep some role players for foundation - no

Strike first and get 2 or 3 big name transfers early on

I’ll try not to complain too much till the roster is more finalized but I am super pessimistic on what is going on so far.

It was a HUGE red flag when Carino interviewed Bryant Felt about the practice facility, and Felt punted Carino’s question about hiring a GM. He said something like “I know GMs are the fashionable thing, but we are still having discussions about it.”

These guys were totally unprepared for portal season - yet again - and now they are getting their asses handed to them.

Yeah I'll repeat my gut on that - Shaheen doesn't want a GM. The rebuttal here was "well they don't have power over the HC in college" and that's true, but a strong ego doesn't care about that. Based on the poor performance last year I think the logic totally dictated hiring a GM - would it have helped? I don't know but they've done nothing aside from finishing the practice facility.

In all honesty, I’m not sure, that’s how bad Holloway is at this right now
There could be plenty of money but the absence of a GM in this current environment is blatant malpractice.

There is more money in the system than available good players. The teams that got the players were the ones working on deals months ago with the ball set in motion by GMs and agents. The head coach should not be the guy working on contracts and making the monetary decision. that is just a dumb way to approach NIL

The successful schools are proactive. There is a reason Tom Moore at UCONN is moving from longtime assistant coach to GM. Much more important role in this era.

Is this the Prince replacement? Anyway, we welcome him to The Hall. Let's see if he can add to the equation.

At some point Sha needs to add some height to the roster. We have Godswill and that's it.
I know it's bad when an a-10 coach says he's a 6-10 player in OUR league aka bench
