1. McDermott
As of today, a runaway

2. Willard
Fought through injuries so he edges out......

3. Wright
Best coach in the nation trending upwards

4. Wojciechowski
Gotta give him credit after losing the H brothers

5. Cooley
Talk about trending up

6. Jordan
Talk about trending down

7. Ewing
Fatigue has finally caught up with his depleted roster

8. Anderson
Hard to blame him for the inherited mess

9. Steele
So much expected so little delivered

10. Leitao
What the opposite of COY?

A two horse race. Maybe Wright can sneak in late but I doubt it.

I’m still sticking with Willard by a hair right now. Hoping they finish off this title.

Willard if they win out - if not then McDermott

Basically where I stand too, with the exception that maintaining BE lead wire to wire (not necessarily needing to win out).

Still more impressed with what Willard did without Mamu for half the BE season and with Powell’s productivity being worse than anyone could’ve imagined than the run Creighton is on since they added Mahoney.

That could change if Creighton overtakes Seton Hall.

Depaul...smh. They shouldn’t be that bad especially after the start Leito had. Hard to argue with McDermott, Willard and Wright in that order right now.

Its McDermott's to lose imo. If Creighton wins out he's a lock.

If The Hall wins out, it's Willards.

I suppose if both teams lose multiple games and Nova wins out, Wright gets it.

1. McDermott
2. Willard
3. Wright
4. Cooley
5. Wojo
6. Jordan
7. Steele
8. Anderson
9. Ewing
10. Leitao

Close race between Willard and McDermott. Had Seton Hall not suffered the injuries to Mamu and Powell, McDermott is the runaway winner no matter how this season ended. However, what Seton Hall has accomplished with Mamu being out half the season and especially beating a top 10 Maryland team without their two best players is pretty extraordinary. I say whoever wins the regular Big East Season should win COTY.

I think it is McDermott right now with Willard and Wright most definitely in the mix.

Worst job coaching is Leitao with Steele not far behind.

IMO, if we didnt have our injuries, given the respect we probably would have nationally an a few fewer losses, I think it would be Willard and no one in the race. IE, SHU with a top 5 ranking...no way would anyone else is get COY votes.

BE CoY is only for Big East games though right?

Technically The Hall was 8-0 without a full roster in the BE. Since everyone has been back (Mamu) they are technically 3-4 even though its taken time for Mamu to get rolling. Not trying to be a smart-@ss, just saying The Hall would probably have the same number of losses in conference.

If it encompasses the entire year, then I assume the couple in question were Iowa State away where Mamu went out first few minutes and Rutgers without Mamu and a concussed Powell early on (though not sure RU doesn't win at The RAC regardless). The Michigan State and Oregon losses were obviously at full strength.

I still think if Willard and Co run the table the last 3 he wins it, otherwise it's McDermott.

IMO, Myles' injury is the one that really has hurt us. I assume the diffence in his play pre and post concenssion s related to the concussion. If he was playing like he can after the team came together, wow...

Has to be McDermott when you reflect on the fact that most preseason polls had Creighton fifth in the BE. If SH beats Creighton and wins out then I think it’s Willard.

Have been reading these COTY spots all year, and don't they correspond pretty much to teams' standings? If so, it seems like a no brainer. Anyway, though never a big fan of Ewing, I'd put him much higher than most; certainly no lower than five. His team has been wiped out by defections and injuries, yet they compete in every game.

FWIW McDermott on the Finalist list for Nation CoY.

I still think if The Hall can pull out a W tomorrow it should be Willard.

I think much of what drives this re: Willard/McDermott is preseason expectations. We were a consensus top 20 team preseason and considered by most to be the favorite in the Big East. Creighton, on the other hand, was picked in the bottom half of the league I believe.

IMO if Creighton is the #1 seed it's an absolute no brainer.

McDermott is BE COY
Wright 2nd
Willard 3rd

If SHU wins the title

Willard by a hair over McDermott and Wright.

I think Cooley could get some consideration for the turnaround they did mid year...ala Louis Orr 2003.

still think it goes to 1 of the 3 mentioned above tho.
