The first one of this Revenge Tour home stand is the pivotal one. Creighton is now 3-3 without Watson and have one 3 of 4, but two of those wins were blowouts of DePaul. Khyri Thomas has been great.

They did win at Butler thanks to a blistering 3PT shooting game and narrowly lost at home to Xavier.

This game is prime for the taking, IMO, but obviously requires us to play a good game. The mess we saw yesterday was very similar to the mess we put on display in Omaha the first time around with Creighton (another 18 turnovers). Having Ish back is a big help given the number of tall shooters Creighton uses.

Hopefully the fans show. We're not done yet!

I know it is hard with our lack of depth, but I would like to see us pressure the ball in this game, perhaps on an extended basis for a significant part of the game. Creighton isn't that deep either, and PG is their weak spot. They can be deadly in the half court because they have guys who can score a multitude of ways, pass the ball and can play-make.

Depth issues for sure, but, if game-planned the right way and with a loud SHU student section, a win can be attained this Wed night.

Their 3PT shooting concerns me. That's really where they've killed it all season, but even more so with Watson out.

Past 6 games. These are prolific numbers:

11/24
1/18 (20-pt loss at Georgetown)
7/21
13/21
13/28
13/22

That's .549 as a team over the past with 39 points from the arc in each game, my God. Amazing they lost one of those games.

Jesus and they went 1/18 one game

In that 6 game stretch they are shooting 58-134 from the arc. 43.3%

Despite the 3PT shooting accolades during this 3-3 stretch they've had without Watson, two of the wins are against 1-12 DePaul.

They've gone 1-3 against Butler, Marquette, Georgetown, and Xavier.

Really must beat them tonight on our home floor. I believe this is a very winnable game if we come out fired up and with a good game plan.

McDermott really came up with a great game plan against Delgado last time they played. He had Patton play off Delgado and let their PF guard Delgado. When Delgado got the ball in the paint, Patton would come from the weak side to double Delgado and blocked a lot of his shots. How will Seton Hall deal with this?

Spacing cutting and positioning on the court will be the key. Delgado will need to hit Carrington, Desi or Powell for the perimeter shot. The offense needs to show some damn movement!

This is one of the areas where I do think Delgado and the team have improved since earlier in the year.

We were also abused defensively in that first game in Omaha. We allowed them to shoot a whopping 68% from 2PT.

Piratz They score in the 70's it seems by just showing up and working
their system. Seton Hall is stuck right near that 70 point a game output
over the last batch of games. So I agree the only way to beat them is to
slow them down on the perimeter. 13 3pt shot makes it virtually impossible
to stop them. Willard is pretty good at setting up a defensive schemes that
can knock teams off their mark. The home crowd has to take
Creighton out of their comfort zone. The defensive intensity has to be there. If
SHU can limit them to 10 or fewer 3pt FGs it should be very close.

They are going to miss Watson's 21 points from the first game. We'll need about
60 combined points from Carrington, Desi, Angel & Powell(about 15 points each) After
that about 12-15 from the rest Nzei, Jones ,Sonogo, Gordon and Soffer. That part is more
difficult to project.

We are a defensive team by nature and it obviously starts there. Forget it if we don't have our "A"" game defensively because I cannot see this SHU team going on a shooting barrage, but hey, you never know in sports.

We have been so bad offensively this year in too many areas that the cumulative effect is that it's often not enough to simply play good defense. Until the coach accepts this, we're going to see more of the same.

This is going to be an interesting chess match as I see it. They shoot the 3 so well and Patton is emerging as a very good inside threat making them harder to defend. We really have to play solid defense in this one to win it. No second chance shots the way they shoot it. I think we have an opportunity to turn them over a little bit and run which will help us. And the way we shoot it we need to handily win on the offensive boards to get second chances. The usual for us as well - cannot have too many TOs and have to hit our foul shots because we should be able to get to the line against them.

Creighton has been a tough match-up for us in the past because they are so patient and well coached. When we have beat them in the past we have outhustled and out physicaled them. Hoping we can do the same tonight. Without Watson we match up much better against this team.

Let's hope the statues move tonight

I do not want a heart attack tonight. Lets win by 10.

I'm in your camp on this. We'll take any kind of win, but how about we just come out and beat down on a team that's not as desperate as us. Those first few minutes will tell the story. If the Hall comes out of the gate early you could see a wire to wire victory. Playing from behind is not a great idea tonight. The crowd is not going to be that big unless there's a good walk up( about 7500). The fans that are there must have a playoff intensity. Creighton just played at DePaul in front of a couple of thousand with a fair amount of their own fans. That may have helped them to be so relaxed on offense, scoring in the 90'S.
