Creighton Game

Kalkbrenner doesn’t often get into foul trouble. He averages 1.6 fouls per game. Only three times this year has he gotten hit with four fouls. However, last game against Nova he had 4 fouls so maybe we can do the same.
Dixon went at him all game with his power game in the paint. Ty isn’t that type of player. Plus on D, CU doesn’t have to double team the post because Kalkbrenner erases everything at the rim.

We could use a big game from Tray Jackson today. He's defending at a much higher level than he was last time we played Creighton - can he do anything to slow down Kalkbrenner? It would be huge, because on the offensive end he offers what Samuel doesn't - the ability to draw Kalkbrenner away from the rim with his shooting.

If that doesn't happen, we just need to attack him and try to get him in foul trouble.

Jackson should be a key tonight. Creighton will have to respect his 3 point shot, bringing Kalkbrenner away from the basket. It's really the only way we'll be able to get into the lane.

I think winning at least 1 of tonight and Saturday VS Nova on the road is a very-near “must”; if we don’t, looking at having to win 4 of 5 remaining…Which would be tough.
I see it this way:

vs. Creighton/Xavier: Must win 1
Villanova (2): Must win 1
vs. Georgetown: Must win
@ UConn/@ PC: Must win 1

Or another way: Must at least split with Nova, must beat Georgetown. Must win 2 of the other 4 games (vs. CU/XU, @ UConn/PC).

So as of right now, no individual game is a "must win" outside of Georgetown. But if we lose a few in the next 2 weeks, then we will encounter true must win games.

If we lose tonight, I believe either @ Nova or vs. Xavier becomes a must win. If we win tonight it takes a lot of pressure off for now. It's a big week. We can really change our fortunes with 1 or 2 wins between now and Saturday night.

I think we both see it the same way. Losing both tonight and Saturday puts us in a very tough spot.

Let’s hope we don’t have to think about it, and just win tonight!
