Creighton picked up 6’10” Iowa sophomore Owen Freeman, the #1 center in the portal. Big W for the BlueJays.

Every year they make big signings in the Portal. And usually very quickly. They zero in on who they prioritize before the Portal opens and strike fast.
100%. This is how teams who succeed in the Portal operate.Good chance they zero'd in & had him well before the portal opened.
There's also a lot of technically unpermitted contact during the season happening. The whole new system is scummy and I hate it.100%. This is how teams who succeed in the Portal operate.
Danny said as such during his CBS interview, which I thought was refreshing for him to be so honest about it.There's also a lot of technically unpermitted contact during the season happening. The whole new system is scummy and I hate it.
(it's healthy for me to get that out of my system from time to time.)
Don’t believe Coach. McDermott or Creighton have ever been accused of violations. He knows that area well (coached Iowa State) so it’s easy for them to track players there. You’re no Terry Dehere.Danny said as such during his CBS interview, which I thought was refreshing for him to be so honest about it.
Now, I think my boy Danny is full of BS a bit when he made a comment -- if I heard it correctly -- that UCONN isn't doing anything like that. I don't buy that for a second. Of course Uconn has people doing so during the season. I mean Kimani earned his stripes in the profession by being one of those guys.
Fear not though, because Saint McDermott and Creighton having this Iowa kid wrapped up by January, I'm sure, will be glossed over and long forgotten here when they are winning games next season.
Same as Johnnies with ASU player100%. This is how teams who succeed in the Portal operate.
I am no Terry although he is my second favorite player after Morton, the reasons for which on Morton I’ve posted many times.Don’t believe Coach. Danny full of BS? That's putting it mildly.
McDermott is a good coach and a likable guy, that's why.I am no Terry although he is my second favorite player after Morton, the reasons for which on Morton I’ve posted many times.
Creighton was one of the biggest bag-droppers that didn’t get credit or attention for it pre-NIL. Among other things, I believe they were caught up in the Dawkins/Adidas stuff and documentary.
They are no doubt one of the top funded programs in the Big East and yet not nearly as much discussion about that here when it comes to their sustained success. Not sure why but probably because they are in Omaha and folks seem to like McDermott (as do I, btw).
Not that I'm aware of. I do think that Connecticut was really smart about getting out in front of NIL. so that we were able to take advantage of it while other people were still adjusting. The legislature just passed the bill that will allow the university to pay players directly. Again, I don't like it, but that is the world we live in apparently.Danny said as such during his CBS interview, which I thought was refreshing for him to be so honest about it.

Matt Abdelmassih has been operating that way for over a decade. That's why Pitino brought him back.Same as Johnnies with ASU player
If memory serves, he was with Hoiberg when Iowa State turned it around by embracing the transfer game at a time when others largely eschewed that route in any significant way.Matt Abdelmassih has been operating that way for over a decade. That's why Pitino brought him back.
