This is what I was very afraid of. Trump is ready to make the Uber wealthy, trillionaires. This sets up crypto to go up in price and will leave this country vulnerable to a pump a dump from guys like Musk and Tiel. Economically, the country will be at their mercy.

Guys like Musk and Theil create value (companies, jobs, innovation, etc.), and they reinvest that wealth into more US companies that create value. Quite frankly I’d rather see that than politicians getting wealthy off insider trading and passing that’s more about lining their pockets rather than what’s good for the country. What value do they create with the money they make that way?

The US government buying as a reserve would further legitimize Bitcoin as a store of value which will bring in other states and countries doing the same which would reduce the risk that an individual could own enough to pump and dump. This is also kind of a self fulfilling prophecy. If the government starts buying, the value is going to increase very rapidly and Trump will look like a genius. Yes, the uber wealthy own and are buying bitcoin. The good news is that we can participate in that as well.

The meme coin stuff does annoy me, but there are going to be valid applications for having a public distributed ledger, and I do expect Bitcoin to last as the digital property / store of value.

Exactly right, we all have the ability to participate. Bitcoin will be the new gold, I know most will disagree but over the next 10 years bitcoin will rise to over one million. Other countries have been buying gold up but soon will have to switch to bitcoin. Turns the tables in our favor in my opinion. Talk to young people under 35 and they all own the coins. People reacted the same way to credit cards now $500 in cash lasts 6 months. Ask any person under 35 for 2 fives for a ten and you will be lucky if they are carrying $5 cash. LOL
