Because of Lebron. One of the best players in NBA history but he is a pain in the ass. Made them draft his kid who was not even a good college player. Runs coaches out of the league and has become a major headache.
He wanted three consecutive NCAA titles, his wife didn't want to go to LA, LeBron James.
Wait for the Knicks or Nets job to open up. Then send a million in NIL to SHU.
After one season it looks like the Nets have a keeper in Jordi. The Knicks job could be open soon tho.
Honestly, I won't be worried until one of these two jobs open up. I don't know whether he'll take them or not, but he will definitely take a long hard look at them.
The Knicks especially, I would have to think. I mean, its the NY Knicks. I don't know as a JC native if he grew up a fan of the Nets, Knicks, or neither. But it is one of the jobs that is difficult to pass up.
He would not have the temperament to deal with the players in a manner they would find acceptable. He could get away with his antics at the college level but with grown men who are professionals with super egos and paid well he would not last long in the NBA. It would be a very short lived career and he would be back at the college level coaching again. Who knows maybe back at SHU down the road?
