13 players out of 58 who returned to campus based on the article I read, just over one fifth of them. Why is it happening? Because the virus is working its way through the rest of the country that didn't see big spikes in March and April.

It's simple to understand what is happening here. The virus hit New York first, ran its course and has now receded in that area. It is now moving through the rest of the country and will eventually recede there as well. It has nothing to do with lockdowns, openings or anything like that.

And who cares if they have it? They're young and fit, most (probably all) will be fine. Positive tests isn't the number to worry about. Hospitalizations relative to the particular area's healthcare capacity is the statistic to watch.

Hope you are right but not sure the virus has run its course in NY .People more cautious maybe?

The old and sickly people that may have come in contact before diagnosed may care.

Let's keep the economy closed until all 180 million people are out of work. Good idea
Just circle the wagon....people would rather feel safe and protected then be at making a living where health can be depleted or lethal...otherwise lets all drink cyanide koolaid...we dont have the structure to support but gotta have covid pos/neg test plus antibody test for anyone going to workplace...if you are in closed and close quarters mask on, i know this infringes on the sect's freedom of libery here

Unfortunately this virus will a lot longer then people think. As I have been saying for months now states economies will continue to open and close the next couple years. As I predicted covid cases in Florida and Georgia are now going up and soon they will become the epicenter of the Coronavirus. Pandemic. Opening up is to blame. Unfortunately Florida and Georgia will be closing again soon. A second wave will have major impact again in the fall/winter in the tri state area. Hospitals will be maxed out beyond belief because of covid cases and flu cases. NJ and NY should have stayed closed all summer. Unfortunately they are opening up and will face the reality with opening up.

shu09 has no idea what he's talking about but "the next couple years" is way way too pessimistic. i think we see a pretty effective vaccine that decimates the mortality rate by February

I'm informed by facts and data, not by partisan hype and media hype.

Hi @itsacurse. I have been spot on about what has been taking place so far and unfortunately I think my predictions will continue to be correct. No way an effective vaccine will be created by January/February 2021. This is just hype by the media and not scientifically responsible. A vaccine will probably be released early 2022. Then again it's up to the world powers to do decide how the virus is distributed. Possible we don't get the vaccine in the US until 2023.

Great moments in facts and data

Trolls gonna troll, as usual you add nothing of substance to the discussion. The fact that the biggest kook on this site liked your post says it all.

Just watch all the people who develop bacterial pneumonia and other illnesses from prolonged mask wearing. Wait for it.

You keep talking about this distribution problems and it’s so stupid

Factually tell me how that's stupid? There is obviously going to be distribution issues when a vaccine comes out. For example, does the European Union get the first batch or the United States? Also, do all elderly people get the vaccine before younger people. For example, phase 1 of the vaccine might be distributed for a certain age group from January 2021 to June 2021. Then another age group after. I'm just warning you of a distribution problem now. The average Joe will very likely not yet vaccinated until 2022 at least.

I haven’t seen evidence of what you are suggesting anywhere yet. Is bacterial pneumonia prevalent in industries where prolonged mask wearing is common?

Hi @shu09. Is there proof masks cause illness? I wear a mask all day in my house and have yet to fall ill.

That's very strange. You may just be a germophobe.

@kniespolice Nope stop making assumptions. I have family members in the house that have serious underlying conditions. If they get the virus it would be a bad scenario.

Next time you post something like that please think before you do it. You don't know what people are going through in their homes.

That stinks, but since you haven't left the house in 3 months how exactly would you get Covid? Seems the facemask is not required.

I can still be exposed because my family come in and out of my house. If spreader comes into my house there is a good chance I get infected. I keep the mask on so if I am an asymptomatic carrier I don't spread to other people in the household. A very very tough time to live in right now. Especially with people in my house with serious underlying conditions.

It's my opinion. May or may not happen. I believe it will.

obviously this is a guy who thinks the response to covid is an overreaction so his troll job is going overboard with everything to try to make it seem ridiculous, and he's doing a pretty bad job of it

yes you are, the fact that you feel the need to lie about it should give you pause

Who the hell do you think you are? You don't know me and what I believe.

So somebody who supports healthcare reform, gay marriage, reduced defense spending and not being the policeman of the world is conservative? That's news to me. And those are only a few of the issues of which I have a "liberal" view. Sure, I'm "conservative" on some issues, but pretty much down the middle when you balance it all out.

I've never voted for a Republican in any presidential election. I've voted for Democrats and Republicans in state/local elections.
