We are not a deep team, but 8-4 in 3rd place.I know we’ve talked about all year long but it really will become an issue down the road. We go 7 deep that’s it! We can’t expect to go far in the BE tourney or the NCAA tourney (hopefully) on back to back nights or short rest with 7.
in addition to coleman? If we could add a piece to this team I think it would be a guard who can shoot and handle the ball over a PF. We are scary in some of these endgames (tonight, Marquette, at Providence, etc.)
I was hoping maybe Sanders could’ve taken a step forward there but nope.
This stretch coming up is big. Not sure where we stand because of the stupid NET. Obviously tonight proved nothing will be easy. Nova, Creighton, SJU and UConn on the road. X and Butler are coming in to our building playing well lately. It’s not going to be pretty but hoping for 3-3 in that stretch minimum. We are not a deep team, but 8-4 in 3rd place.
We'll be lucky to win two games in the BET, but hopefully won’t need them and rest up for postseason.

We’re alone in 3rd. 8 wins is more than 7.We are not a deep team, but 8-4 in 3rd place.

We should beat butler SJU AND Nova x2 and DePaul. We owe X a beating. That leaves Crieghton and UConn for an upset win. No reason we can’t get to 13. Overall 20-8 heading into BET.Need to get 12 wins in conference…somehow someway
Like Kadary tonight?Depth is an issue because we seem pretty banged up. Richmond went down hard to start the game. EHE limped off at the end. Any more things like that guys without names on their jerseys start playing.
Anything Larry Davis could do, Dre could do betterNeed and injury report on EHE because if he can't go who fills in for Bediako?
Creighton does it too. But those teams have good shooting, it makes a huge difference. They don’t have to drive and finish to get their points. Wears you out over time being so imbalanced.Nova did and won a natty doing it
I was expecting more from Sanders given early reports but that hasn’t happened.Sha has to choose one of Brown, Tubek, and Sanders to play a maximum of 5 minutes during these games. It seems to me Sanders is his answer, although he does not pass the eye test. I really wish Tubek was up to speed because I think he could have an impact, but he he's just too far behind at this juncture.

In Sha’s postgame he pointed to getting Sanders more minutes. I don’t think Sanders does anything to demonstrate he can be a reliable BE player but we don’t have options.ISaiah needa the most minutes off.the bench. Surprised he went w jaquan late over isaiah. Idk if they were just minutes to try to get him going
Wusu is an interesting player. You just don’t know what’s coming game in and game out but he plays hard. He does so many things from defense to rebounding but not always consistently and he’s by nature one of those players who pushes so much it can lead to sloppiness. He’s probably best suited as a 6th man versus playing 33 MPG.Loved Wusu’s steal though after Kadary got the ball stolen from him. He waited at half court and was like, you stole the ball from my friend and now I’m taking it back. Then gave the ball to Kadary for the dunk. Was beautiful defense as if Wusu knew exactly what the Georgetown player was going to do with the ball.
That was a huge 4 point swing because I believe Gtown had a 3 on 1 and a player all alone on the left side for an easy layup if he just gave up the ball sooner. Think of the times Georgetown cut it to 3, that 4 point swing would've made Georgetown plus 1.Loved Wusu’s steal though after Kadary got the ball stolen from him. The issue wasn't 2 specific players. The issue was the perimeter defense. Play perimeter defense like that and we can go 1-5 in the next 6. I would love to say SHU caused Georgetown to shoot 10-40 from 3, but our rotations and close outs were bad and they still missed. They missed because they were too wide open(that's facetious don't write a 6 page response to it) or just poor shot selection with 20 on the shot clockIsn’t this the same story with this team after each game.
If you’re getting a good Dawes and DAW game at the same time we look like a top 3 team in the conference.
If one has an off night you feel like the result could go either way vs the middle of the pack.
If they both have a bad game…well it resembles what we saw in the OOC and we start calling our depth into question and say they are better suited off the bench.
I wouldn’t call last night a double bad game. But both play on the below average side of things, combined with a poor game from Bediako, hence we struggled to pull away from Georgetown.
You do realize that of Dylan’s 3-11 effort he missed 4-5 point blank layups at the rim.The issue wasn't 2 specific players. The issue was the perimeter defense. You want the best of both worlds in the what if scenario. It works both ways. if DAW makes all his misses we win by 15, but never want to go the direction if Georgetown makes 7 or 8 of the wide open 3's we lose. Fair. You do realize that of Dylan’s 3-11 effort he missed 4-5 point blank layups at the rim.
Richmond didn't command the ball when he was in there. And Dawes dribbling out of control is because of the roster. You want to criticize the coach of MD for his roster, but don't blame ours that we are left to Dawes to be dribbling the ball. And I'll bet if you were the coach of Georgetown you'd say let's dare Dawes beat us off the dribble, that's not his game. He is put in a role he's not built for any time KR is on the bench, why? because of the roster. Also prior to Dawes hitting a big 3 late, was 3-10 with 3 turnovers and dribbling off his foot again out of control.
And the comment from Sha in the huddle about dribbling the ball for 12 seconds without going anywhere was directed at Bediako, Kadary, and Davis???
Nobody coming back to help Kadary when he was bottled up in the backcourt was big too. Didn't hurt because they called a Georgetown foul, but it was a turnover waiting to happen.Speaking of end game issues, Dylan went to the hoop for a contested layup with about a 1:30 left (I could have that timing wrong) when he should have pulled the ball out. Got stuffed which lead to a runout and score by GTown. I hope the coaches let him have it on that one. Then on the next series Sanders made the smart play and could have gone inside for a potential layup but pulled the ball out and got fouled. That was the smart play. I think Sha had him in to get another ball handler and he's a better foul shooter than Wusu and Coleman which was a smart substitution and one I hadn't seen Sha make in earlier games. Unfortunately Sanders bricks the first FT. We have been saying it but we need more from him. He was wide open for a three down the stretch and airballed it. Wasn't ever close and missed by a lot and he's supposedly our best shooter in practice. Depth - we just don't have any on this team.
Wusu’s inability to convert high percentage looks is hurting more than the 3PT. As a result his 2PT% is by far the worst of his career by a pretty wild amount. You do realize that of Dylan’s 3-11 effort he missed 4-5 point blank layups at the rim.

I’m not sure how to respond to these comments anymore. You want the best of both worlds in the what if scenario. It works both ways. if DAW makes all his misses we win by 15, but never want to go the direction if Georgetown makes 7 or 8 of the wide open 3's we lose. Fair.

Security kept me out of the huddle. Next time I'll offer them a beer. A couple more yards closer and I would've been able to hear. But now I'm curious what the comment was and when it happened. Without knowing sounds like a roster issue because I'd bet KR wasn't on the floor and guys not in a role they are comfortable with and Cooley making those guys uncomfortable make a play.
One sided what ifs. Everyone except Depaul is undefeated on one sided what ifs. And then to do it on only 2 guys. You can't do what ifs on Richmond and Bediako staying on the court? You can't do what if we actually made Cook look like Cook and not Mourning. What if we did a better job guarding them? The guys who were left to pick up most of the slack last night by playing 35 and 38 minutes, they're the top 2 culprits as to why we didn't win by 15. The fact Georgetown had 75 shots and we had 58 had nothing to do with it. Even with a +16 free throw number that's not good. But DAW and Dawes, the 2 guys to take issue with why we didn't win by big numbers.NOT SURE WHAT YOUR PROBLEM IS.
