Other than telling me that he went to an Elite Eight with another school one time, who here can reasonably defend this guy anymore? Biggest possession of the game, down 2 points with the ball, and you tinker with the lineup that brought you back? And this is not the first time, nor will it be the last time. When will he learn? Felton is long gone and I do not blame him one bit.

It’s certainly fair to question him on how he put this group together this year that’s giving us our worst season in 40 years. And he should be questioned. The product is awful and he’s responsible. As much credit as he gets for last year he gets criticism for this year.

Agree. But I think this is a maturing year for Sha. One he needs.

I really think he thought he could turn a lot of this scrap heap into gold. But he can’t.

I think he learns he can’t win without established talent.

At least I hope he does.

Exactly- stick with the hot hands. Very disappointed.

We’ll see what comes from this in a few months. We have small budget and didn’t spend it well and couldn’t coach it up. I’m surprised how bad it is and that Sha is overseeing a total collapse, it is surprising.

Someone who Sha respects and who he will listen to has to get in his ear and give him an. Honest appraisal of what he’s doing wrong and what changes he should make. , someone like a PJ for example.

"When you talk negatively about your players, what you're really doing is seeking comfort because your teaching is struggling."
Or maybe it’s because kids don’t care about winning and care more about boosting stats for next year’s paycheck.

Bilas is not a critical thinker. He is struggling to see how conditions have severely deteriorated in college basketball.

Bilas is one of the people most responsible for the joke college basketball has turned into. He got exactly what he wanted. A complete POS.

C’mon. The surprise was we were even in the conversation. Picked 9th
Preseason by the coaches. No proven inside players. Our three key returnees all had question marks Dre— injury prone, Dawes— everybody’s whipping boy, KR— health issues and inconsistency. Those were the preseason expectations and they were not good. Let’s not rewrite history to fit a narrative.

Amen! A lot of the negative posts are embarassingly naive and just wrong.

You’re right..I’m not as mad as you are about but I agree with you..

But people like: saban, Smart, Dabo, Riley, Sark, Kelly, self, cal, Izzo are every bit as guilty in this

Man, you are one negative dude and completely out of touch.
lol. I was a Pollyanna when we were making the tournament year after year and now I’m completely out of touch negative dude that we’re not making it.

I post once or twice a game this year. If I wanted to be super negative this would be the year to pour it on. When you get excited about a program not finishing in 9th with 5 seniors, one of which had POY potential, you have to ask how low is the bar? 1 game for all the marbles at MSG and you lose by 19 with 5 guys in their 4th or 5th year. Thats more disappointing than just being bad.

What? Not seeing this at all. I loved going to games last year all season long. I cringe going to games this year.
Being bad and being disappointed are 2 completely different things. I have absolutely no positive expectations this year. Tough to be disappointed this year. Last year was much more disappointing because you felt we could beat Iowa, RU, USC. For as bad as this team is, we might have fewer 15 point losses this year. We had 7 last year and only 2 so far this year. Being beaten by 15+ that many times with a much better team is and was disappointing.

Of course being snubbed for the NCAAT was disappointing but it was not a disappointing season by any objective standards. The problem with you negative guys is that you rarely acknowledge the positives. Yeah we had upper classmen of whom the vast majority of BE coaches thought were no good. They turn it around, finish in 4th place with 13 BE wins including over NC UCONN and S16 Marquette, beat SJ 2/3 and our nemesis VU. Rack up 25 wins and a (so what) NIT banner. But rarely a mention of the accomplishments just always the same old stuff. This season is way past disappointing. It’s reached the apathetic stage.

Give it time....we haven't played the top of the conference yet...I feel like several more 15+ point losses could be on the horizon...

You negative guys? LMAO. Go back and read my posts from years ago. I was the most positive person we would turn it back around after the loss at RU when Powell was concussed and Mamu was out. The entire board was flipping out. Not me. I was positive we would make the tournament in 2017 when a lot of idiots said Whitehead coached the team the year before. I've got a history of being far from negative. How quickly we have dropped from a perennial NCAAT team to being excited about the NIT is disappointing.

So you are a "fair weather fan". Sha took a Mid Major to the Elite 8 and captured an NIT championship, yet you question if he knows what he's doing. I call that being negative. Sha had one of the smallest NIL budgets of all Power 6 Teams which explains why we lack major talent on the roster. Sha can be criticized due to his wanting to go 8-10 deep rather than pooling more NIL resources for a smaller number of higher level players, but to question whether he knows what he's doing is being ridiculously negative.

Sha has forgotten more about the game than almost all of the posters here combined. The NIL and portal is not a natural progression for a basketball coach like Sha. This year he is adapting and by next year he will either modify his process or he will not. SHU needs to come into the present reality of what is happening in CBB. I believe this is a SHU problem much more than a Sha problem. Fix that as much as we can and Sha will have us catching the leaders even if we are not totally up to them in NIL.

What the hell are you talking about fair weather fan. To even think that you can't possibly be smart enough to know what a fair weather fan is. You make it sound like during those NCAAT years it was all sunshine and good times. Almost every year had a swoon. Almost every year had obstacles where the fan base was screaming. Being positive during those times wasn't easy. LOL Fair weather fan. I'm still here. I'm still supporting. Because I think last year was more of a disappointment makes me fair weather? It's been NCAA or bust for a while. Let me know where I ever questioned if he knows what he's doing. He's trying to make chicken salad out of chicken crap this year. I found a positive so far in that with this bad team he's not getting blown out like last years team did. Geez.

is it possible to be a fairweather fan on this board?

we have differing opinions here, and arguments. but were all in the .0000000001% of SHU fandom. this team and school do not deserve the amount of headspace we put into them. not even remotely. yet here we are.

Sound points in all regard. But sadly you are talking to the wall. The hard negative posters here are not in possession of open minds.

Frankly, the very title of this thread truly grates on me. It is ignorant and offensive.
