This is so comical .what garbage
Imho it is the NET which is garbage as it is contrary to the whole principle that the critical variable in any game is who wins and who loses. The margin of victory might represent a relative indicator of strength IF first the sampled universe were basically homogenous as say the NFL is. But the 400 college teams are broadly disparate.

Second, the NCAA committee trumpets that the results of initial games from October are weighted equally with those of February. This presumes both (a) that a team with five returning starters does not begin with an intrinsic advantage over a team with 2-3 starters who might not have even been in that school the prior semester; and , (b) that individual player’s development is irrelevant.

SHU played weak OOC teams and won by narrow margins, so therefore SHU is no better than the many teams which beat those teams in February by similarly tight margins.

Head-to-head results in February (e.g. SHU two victories over SJU) mean no more about relative strength than does comparing the respective margin of victory over similar MAAC teams in November!

That said, these NET figures are consistent and determinative albeit totally misleading by any traditional standard of measure
