Donald Trump doesn't seem to think that's the case. In his speech to the joint session of Congress, he blamed Sleepy Joe. He said, “Joe Biden especially let the price of eggs get out of control — the egg prices out of control. We’re working hard to get it back down."
Speaking of assigning blame, it's very interesting that you lay the post-pandemic inflation - a global phenomenon - at the feet of Joe Biden, but when it comes to egg prices, Trump is powerless.
For what it's worth, I agree that there are many external factors that the president can't control when it comes to the price of eggs, or any good, really. However, Trump is an exception as there is a very obvious thing he's doing that adversely impacts egg pricing.
Even if this weren't the case, the Democrats should be pressing him on this. It was literally a Trump campaign promise!
