Right now everyone is grabbing for the facts. There is so much innuendo that it is very hard to get the facts straight. I do not have answers but I do have questions that need to be answered with facts. If this can happen over the next few days we hopefully be having much different and more positive discussions going forward.
1. Did Hobbs write the original contract with Willard? On the assumption as Dean of the Law school there is a hope that he would have enough experience with employment law to protect the school if he did?
2. When the extension was granted, based on Dan's explaination regarding the Fox deal, which is the first plausible reason I have heard about giving him an extension, was the contract changed in the terms of the agreement, not just the length and the amount, of the original contract.
?
3. If Willard actually entered into any conversation with HC is there grounds legally for review and dismissal? Even if it was to turn it down, unless he did so with Lyons full permission?
4. What role is Lyons really playing at this point in time?
5. What is the real buyout?
6. Who can actually make the decision to fire him?
7. Can we get out of this, have a viable program, and move forward?
If we can get REAL FACTS to the decisions, maybe we can move on.
