Fascinating from The Atlantic

As of right now Trump is comfortably ahead in every swing state according to nearly every poll. Some polls have VA, NM, and MN in play for him as well. If that holds it would be the biggest electoral college landslide since Obama in 2008.

If trump comfortably wins over whoever he beats whether it is Biden or any of his replacements watch out for the heritage foundation/project 2025 . Trump is on the same page as them no matter how much he denies it . We are in big trouble as a country .

Most of them were in his djt 45 administration or leading surrogates

How much of the 900+ pages have you read? Or just taking the lying, duplicitous mainstream media's take on it?

I have no idea what's in it, I'm not reading it, nor do I listen to the media.

These dorky think tank guys view Trump as their bulldozer to demolish the guardrails of democracy, paving the way for someone much more cunning to take over in the future.

The left is guilty of this too. There are plenty of younger democrats who have a far more socialist agenda than they let on to. The problem is both sides have come to view this as a zero sum game. It’s now win at all costs, something our founders intended to prevent from ever happening.

Haven’t read the entire document, but I’ve worked with (not for) heritage in the past. There are absolutely people who work their that word turn America into a theocracy if they got the chance.

The people are complicit in this as well as we've allowed the federal government to veer farther and farther away from our Constitutional principles, another bipartisan effort.

A small group of radicals on each side want to impose their morality on the entire nation. To accomplish this they rile up the masses using dumb cultural war wedge issues. Most people, lacking critical thinking skills, take the bait.

For Dems it’s things like abortion, DEI, climate change

For MAGA it’s guns, vaccines, and immigrants.

Unless we find away to fix our public discourse and make it civilized again our democracy will continue to weaken. The more divided we are, the more the people at the top can abuse their power.

The interesting thing about a Trump second term is something that really has gone unmentioned in the media, which is that he is barred from running for a third term in '28 under the 22nd amendment, even though he lost in 2020. Now that he has the nomination in the bag, he really does not need the Religious Right as much as he did in 2016 and 2020. and, depending on how badly Biden freefalls in the next few months, he may not need them much ever again.

Trump has publicly disavowed Project 2025. Of course, Trump is a pathological liar who screws over and throws everyone who ever worked for him under the bus when convenient, so you can't take his word for it. But we've seen some signs that Trump is ditching the less popular, socially conservative aspects of the GOP agenda, as evidenced by the removal of a national ban on abortion in the RNC platform, which was frankly unthinkable even four years ago and has the Religious Right very angry.

900 pages !are you kidding me but read enough and know some of the people behind it . Some of them are past trump employees yet he says he never heard of the project. I am a moderate registered demo but I have voting R in the past. If you are a moderate today you are either called a republican in name only maybe a dinosaur . Sad state of affairs when the far right and far left are fighting for power and most bi partisan bills can't get passed.

Moderates get swept to the side. So do even those a bit more to the right or left. The far right and far left dominate. Sad.

If there was only a document enumerating the powers of the federal government and we'd actually adhere to it....................................

It is amazing how mainstream media talking points quickly catch on with the general population. I've never heard of Project 2025 before this week and now all the sheep talk about it every day.

Just an extension of the Heritage Foundation .

Project 2025 is a version of the conservative nirvana. Trump is a realist and is taking a more moderate approach as the GOP platform shows. In case you hadn't noticed.... we are in big trouble as a country now.

You call him a liar yet you accept whatever Biden and his handlers tell you to. Spare us the virtue signals.

So pick your poison and hope for the best and don't try to pigeon hole me because you are off base. PEACE brother Pirate . Going back to basketball sites where it's more fun . GO PIRATES !!!!!!!
