Fitting Sequence

Coleman is brutal all game. Improbable opportunity to get us to overtime at the line where he's been great. Misses the first.

Yeah, brutal. I blame the dreds and headband. Don’t mess with a good thing.

We stay competitive with teams when we turn them over like this.

On the flip side, Aligbe and Dual showing life.

Lots of ways to look at it. Bad game for the most part by both teams. Hall gave a strong effort though. Won't totally kill Sha for not sticking with the unit that came roaring back. Coleman was completely out of sync in this game.

Free throws and SH don’t mix. Best defense vs SH by a team with depth and a close game, foul before they shoot. $$$

We shot well from the free throw line tonight. 23 - 30. Killer is we had an ideal officiating crew tonight. Not often we shoot more FTs than our opponents.

Coleman picked a bad game to have a lousy shooting performance. Team can’t get out of its own way.

Just a tough, tough loss. We just don’t have enough specially down low. No rim protection. Team played its best when we got PC’s bigs in foul trouble and could play small. As noted above starting to see who we want back next year— Coleman (yeah he was terrible tonight), Dual, Felton, Aligbe, Scottie, Godswill as a project. Maybe Gus. But we still to need to make it happen in the portal.

Dual, Aligbe and Felton played very well. Gus brought the energy.

Coleman obviously cost them the game. You couldnt play worse if you tried. 0-10 shooting, poor ft%, missed defensive assignments, and multiple turnovers. Yet he almost won the game with the half court heave. SMH.

Either Godswill or Gus can only be back as the 13th man on the roster type 3rd string big. Both are a LONG ways off from being a decent big in this league

Dual needs more basketball sense. Doesn’t seem to “get it” yet. You only get it by playing more. There is definitely hope. Prince would be a very good spare part on a good team. Hope he stays.

Three guys from NJ scored 40 points for Providence. Our Metro NY recruiting is not good.
PC guard play is excellent. Credit to our guys they were equal to the task. PC will be dangerous in March. Older team with solid guards usually are. Didn’t realize they are jersey guys.

Same for me. Last two games were very good. I had written him off. Perhaps I was wrong. But let's see if he continues the good play.
He’s improving. So bad though when they iso him. The end of the first half was another example of him failing to get off a decent shot when he has the ball. He’s not close yet.

Get a gift foul called for 3 shots to tie the game with 3 seconds left: Miss one, have a lane violation negating a second.

Lmao. Perfectly captures this miserable 6-15, 1-9 season.
Its all shaheens fault fire him now. Cant he shoot those ft for coleman

Gus does more than bring energy, kid is in the right spots on the court understands the game with awesome screens and movement without the ball. He kept their big man in check and drove him nuts.

You will eat these words, both are first year players. Gus if he stays will be a force in the big east. Understands the game, needs to bulk up but has a good outside shot. Only a matter of time before he’s getting more and more time. Doing things most people don’t recognize, excellent movement without the ball, screens, watch the shots guys get from his movement. That’s why Sha is playing him. Moves better than Sandro as a Freshman. Goodwill and Gus are going to get better and better. They are probably battling against each other in practice. They are Freshman big men, what do people expect.

They'll get better, but for whom? Why would they stick around? Same goes for Dual if he starts to get it.

Did you read my post? I said Godswill as a project. Maybe he’s serviceable by his 3rd year. But it will always be difficult for SHU to land capable big men out of HS or the portal so SHU has to retain bigs who have some potential Gus, hey he’s a crowd favorite! As I recall, neither Godswill or Gus played much basketball last year for various reasons, so there is every reason to believe they will get better.

The fitting sequence for me was right after we take a 53-51 lead and are playing good D, Wusu commits a foul 90 feet from the basket to put PC in the 1&1. Kid makes both shots to tie and PC immediately goes up by 5, a 7-0 run. SHU never had the lead again although I think we did tie it once or twice but we could never get over the hump after that.

Playing under the radar right now, personally believe Sha's strategy is to keep it that way. People are not coming for Sophomores, we may lose Coleman though and maybe Prince. If I'm looking for final pieces to get my heavily financed NIL team to the final 8 not looking at teams with really bad losing records. Plus we don't know if someone will step up at SHU to help finance the program. Maybe a former player or unknown benefactor. Have to think some of these coaches will start to band to together stop the poaching. Has to be difficult for these coaches so maybe they all start acting with some integrity. Something has to give, trying to take an optimistic approach.

Really thought Hall would win with the breaks and calls gotten --my only fear was that the Student Fan may rush the Court.
How embarrassing is the Student Section. I guess the night classes moved to Tuesday and it was early Valentines Day. Has there ever been a worse turnout?

Prince was great. A MAN on offense. Dual looks better each game. Middleton was a big factor too. Jahseen too. And we have 4 or five wonderful assists, ual and Felton I think.

Back to the last ft, DAW lane violation...why was he there and not prince? Did Zay make that by accident?

I hope Gus changes my mind but I am not seeing what you guys are seeing.

We need more talent and we need everyone to live in the weightroom.

3 NJ guys on PC really hurt us.

Tuesday night at the beginning of the semester. Show up.

But he’s a major liability on defense right now.

Moves better than Sandro🤣🤣🤣

As a freshman.

All 3 bigs are defensive liabilities but the offense runs smoother when Gus is on the court due to his ability to set a solid screen & knowledge of correct spacing. Probably learned that at Wisconsin.

If Gus commits to getting in much better shape over the summer he can be a contributing piece to a decent team next year but I have doubts it will be us.

IMO Gus' time has little to do with HIS abilities.

Better than the other 2 right now. He frustrated there big man last night. He got beat once on a fake but otherwise was very good. There big was also a freshman. Not saying he's perfect but thinking he's going to play like a Junior or Senior is crazy.
