Forever eligible

its clear the current course is being an nba feeder league and i bet the NBA is keeping a close eye on all this.

Problem is we litigate everything.
The NCAA in the representation of the schools forced everything into litigation. There were many points when a reasonable deal on amateurism, rev sharing could have been made. NCAAA walked itself into massive problems.

It’s not “the NCAA.” Remember, the NCAA is made up of it member schools. And those schools resolutely rejected every chance to reach some type of agreement. Certainly the the power football conference are a major part of the failure but the mid majors, low majors, DII, DIII, everyone contributed to this mess.

I think it’s a little more complex than that. I think the NBA and NFL with terrible or no minor league systems contributed more than anyone. The NCAA oversees more than just basketball and football. There’s always going to be overpaid and underpaid people. Everyone cares about the top 1%. Almost all baseball, softball, tennis, golf, soccer, volleyball, swimmers, fencing, water polo, hockey, field hockey players are overpaid with their scholarships, even a half scholarship. Even basketball players at low level D1 aren’t worth as much the scholarship. Those schools bring in money because of buy games not because of the players themselves. If everyone gets their fair worth do we take away the scholarships from those players?

i think you're not taking in account how inflated school tuition is. scholarships are different, you dont have donors giving the money, fans giving the money, and you need those sports for the revenue driving sports. i wouldnt look at scholarship as whats overpaid for those sports, but maybe the cost of running the team as is.

No, you have other students parents and the government picking up the tab. That’s so much better.

the school is picking up the tab easily from gouging everyone else , which they would do sport or not. the amount of students it represents is a drop in the bucket. those athletes are also real students. sounds like your upset at the idea of scholarships in general.

No I think the scholarship is enough. And if you say it’s not enough for some you also have to admit it’s too much for others
