Steve Sauers, one of the most liked coaches at Seton Hall over the years was courtside for the DePaul win Wednesday. I was told by those sitting in the area (media area) a few fans at the game were calling Steve the Pirate fan of the game as he was cheering as loud as anyone in the area for his good friend Shaheen Holloway. LOL
Moreover, I consider Steve a lifetime friend for over 20 years, so I called him and asked him about the game. Steve felt that Sha won the game with his halftime adjustments and was surprised that DePaul coach Chris Holtmann, who he loves, didn't follow suit.
He told me that was the difference in the game.
Steve's out of the business now but he is still close to Sha and as a former coach loves the Pirates.
