Game 7 Game Thread: Siena vs. Seton Hall

Just BRUTAL. The coaching staff should pay for their airfare home!
This game is not on the coaches (though some of this result is). This is mostly on the players for not even really showing up today. Inexcusable in so many ways. Passing, layups missed, focus, defense, not running the called play. The coaches have their work cut out for them because right now this group of guys has no chemistry and most of them are individually playing very poorly. Odukale and Samuel being two notable exceptions to that.

And that exemplifies why we lose. Terrible performance by the guys today. No matter what the coaches tried to do, they just were not there. Clearly this will be a long year. Absolutely garbage effort. Sha made adjustments, obvious to me, but there was horrendous execution by almost every single player today
Yup, going to be a couple of long years.

What kind of concentration level was that at the line? How many guys missed 2 free throws.

Just a BS non structure play out of the time out.. WT H was that?

I’m looking at the whiteboard with the camera in the huddle during that last timeout, seeing that dibble and pop call, and I can see that’s not going to work. A screen, some movement, get it inside. Incomprehensible.

Just such a sad state this program is in right now. This season is going affect the fanbase that has grown over the last few years. Attendance will sadly be down as well.

This collapse is usually reserved for February--Sha had better find a lot of players for next season because the team needs help in every position

You are what your record says you are.
Your players are what you see on the court .
The way a team plays falls on the players , the head coach and his staff .
Right now we are a team that’s performing poorly and with questionable decisions made by the coaching staff contributing to that poor performance.

Disagree, although the players played at a Division 2 level, the coaching staff had almost .zero success and n the last few minutes. Had 3 timeouts left with. 3 minutes.. Used first one with 34 seconds. If Harris was winded as announcers said, maybe you call timeout to give him a minute before free throws. You’re not freezing a guy in a hostile environment there. That play by Dawes was as brutal as you could draw up.

Also, I know they are trying to push buttons, but how about the collective mental state of the team. But, Yes you are correct that the bulk of the blame goes to players.

Femi showed heart.

Lots of work to go on all around. So many things just make me facepalm, like Davis having to be screamed at by the entire bench and fan base to foul with 8 seconds left.

I don't even know where to start, honestly we had no right even winning that Memphis game. That mini tournament exposed us. One huge weakness that has been made apparent is our lack of floor general. Someone on the court who will settle everyone down and take control when things seem to be getting away. I don't see anyone willing to take that up.

Our guards are not displaying PG abilities and to be honest aren’t really displaying 2G abilities either. Can’t think of any program right now that play this style of offense.

Point is a big issue. Both play too fast, sloppy with ball and out of control. Not what is needed from a point guard. Coach needs to get that fixed, along with much more.

On a side note I don’t think anyone can complain about officiating. Several plays went our way that replay could have reversed. Jackson also took like 7 steps on his way to a layup.. Eurostep. Lol

Playing like that they will not beat themselves. (How did Harris miss the 2 ft's when it was tied, how did we miss so many layups).
Atrocious job by a 5th year grad student, supposedly a dead eyed shooter. They’re playing your tunes at the team’s intros. Come on man, You gotta do better than that!

Way too many times when Jackson gets ball he goes one one and misses the shot.He should be be benched for this type of play.We are a turnover machine who will be at the bottom of BE this year and hopefully not next year.
