Game Thread: Seton Hall vs. Marquette

Kam Jones being hurt is a positive for us

Laws of statistics are on our side for Igohodoro to miss some shots today after being 83% from the field in his last 3 games

Nice start up 14-7 about 14 minutes. So far pretty good. Defense is forcing Marquette out. Another TO coming up and that gives the starters a break.

happy that wusu hit two 3s. completely negated by 3 turnovers in the first 10 mins. (and almost a 4th)

marquette is taking away the one guy that can dribble and its working. have to resort to the ole pass.

Wish we could get more out of Jaquan. Almost seems like he doesn’t even want to have the ball in his hands.

Up 21-16 just over 7 minutes. They are scrapping for sure. Have to cut down on over dribbling and keep passing. Davis is dialed in.

wusu is walking tunover. sure coleman could have shot it, but wusu had plenty of time and had no idea that a clock even existed.

After a long cold streak and MU brings the game within 2, We get back to back baskets and Shaka takes an immediate time out…. This happens so often where we don’t use this timeout and hand back the lead

Nice assist by Sanders. Up 6 about 5 minutes. Everything the bench can contribute is important.

the last thing marquette wants is for us to hang around. judging on the game so far i think this is a win for them. perhaps comfortable as the 2nd half gets going. we arent playing that well and still leading. despite all the turnovers i guess thats a moral win so far.

im gonna be that guy, but this whistle is absurd. kick ball on shu offense, obvious travel not called on marquette, guy hanging all over davis gets called on him with an additional ticky tack immedialty after. wtf.

Great use of a timeout by Shaka Smart. SH goes up 6 after two quick transition runouts. He immediately calls timeout to stop the run, draws up a nice set play for a three point shooter. Then they turn up the defense and get a layup off it. Five quick points.

i have to say its a bit strange for sha not to call the timeouts, but im wondering if he thinks its better to keep the game moving if were in the lead. idk.

these Jewish kids LOVE banging 3's against us haha no matter what team we play

Davis has to control his emotions. He was upset at being called for the offensive foul, then commits a stupid foul 30 feet from the basket on the next possession. Takes himself right out of the game. It's why he fouled out against Creighton too.

Wow. I’ve never seen an official actually make that kick call as a foul.

That’s really bad.

The Davis foul and then this one.

to continue with the refs being scumbags, that 3 is such an egregious flop i cannot believe they gave him that.

these announcers are morons. landing space? he was in the 2nd row no where near the landing space.

Just when you think Big East officiating couldn't get any worse, the refs surprise you with their incompetence.

the fact this is a one point game on the road is. a testament to sha. we should be up one if the refs werent scumbags. and both teams took the same amount of timeouts in the end.

again they let the MU player catch a ball fall on his butt and get up and score a layup, are you suprised?

Down 1 at the half. Sha did not coach that last 4 minutes too well. Up 6 they cut it to 1 and you call a timeout. If not there when Dawes had his shoe problem. Too bad Dawes is missing his shot so far. Can't let Gold hurt you from the perimeter. Also, why put Brown in when Marquette had momentum and crowd into it. Oh well they are right in it if they make shots. The team is battling and that is so good to see.

Absolutely would’ve signed up for down 1 at the half, should have the lead if not for shoddy officiating. Need to muck it up and out grind them in the second half.
