Game Thread: Seton Hall vs. Marquette

Marquette exposing our lack of point guard/handle—which is what most teams should do.
What's wild is we only turned it over 6 times in the first half. Crazy the score is what it is given that.

Dual actually just set GWE for a possible bucket near the rim, instead of doing the usual dribble around up top and accumulate a few assists because of "hockey passes" to Coleman coming off a screen for a few dribbles and bucket. Which also drives the low turnover ratio.

He was atrocious in the first half offensively and defensively so hopefully he can turn it around and play better this half, continuing his recent streak of somewhat improved play.

Felton looks pissed.
Scotty should shout a least 8-10 times a game.
Gus seems to make things happen.
This is a game where Gus can actually do some stuff in the interior/on the boards. Same with GHE. Gold is a 5 out player and even their other young big kid like to play outside.

Wanted to be excited coming off the UCONN win. A lackluster effort on so many levels. Painful in the second half. Too many issues to get into other than we are awful tonight. I have had enough of the Pirate play and the polarizing Steve Lappas - tedious listen. I'm out.

We look like a bunch of high school kids trying to play Div 1 ball. It’s actually embarrassing. Marquette could put every scrub and walk on in the game and we would still lose. Down by 26.

Dual should not be the starting PG for our team next year @Halldan1
Lost defensively tonight. For every steal/strip/bucket, like the one he just made, he's losing guys, getting beat back door or getting beat off the dribble. Probably b/c he sells out for steals so often. Not a good game for him tonight on either end, but he's getting the "Long treatment" right now so folks will focus on that nice pass he made to Gus right now for a bucket, down 25 with 1:30 left with guys who don't play on the floor for Marquette and the game over.

We will be in the cellar again next year if we go into the season with Dual at PG
I wouldn't go that far, and I want him back if it makes sense as a rotation guy, but my expectations were much higher even with his improved play of late (notwithstanding tonight). That shouldn't be taken as a knock on the kid either, but I'm not yet as enamored as others are and I think if he was on other Big East teams, some of the takes on his play of late would be laughed at by those same folks.
