Garland just appointed Weiss as a special counsel even though he asserted all along Weiss had the freedom to charge in any jurisdiction.Weiss was in on the fix so this may change nothing ,but Garland didn’t want Weiss testifying that he was refused special counsel status.This thing needs to trial and Garland can tell his boss he tried to give Hunter an unprecedented sweetheart deal but the judge nixed it.

Only obvious issue is has anything changed.He covered for the President by nit allowing investigations that could have led to him.If Garland really wanted to have this seem non political he would have appointed counsel outside of DOJ,but then he could not insure the trail would not lead to Joe.
