Anybody watching? The building is less than half full. This time of the year these games against lower level D1 teams just don't draw in the north east.

The game however looks very intriguing. Monmouth up early 12-6.

This is not a typical Monmouth team.
But it is a typical Georgetown one.

Like I posted a few days ago. They'll win some they shouldn't. But will smell up the joint in a few head scratching losses. They do it every year.

Let's hope they wake up and play better in the final 20 minutes.

By 17 with 4 mintues to go. If MU wins this game and finishes top 2 in the MAAC, but does not win the MAAC Tourney and the automatic bid they should get an at large NCAA bid. What incredible wins in the OOC schedule for them.

monmouth made it count at foul line, gtown got there more and made less, also took more 3s and made less

after monmouth beats rutgers on sunday despite the early conference loss they should be ranked in top 25

King Rice is going to be a hot coaching commodity after this season. I wonder how much Monmouth's RPI drops in the MAAC. Could possibly be in at large depening on how many losses in conference. Quality non conference wins.

Could be a tough night for the BE as DePaul plays Stanford later tonight on the West Coast.

they were 2-3 plays away from beating dayton and getting to orlando final too; conf play is tough no matter what league, they don't play conf again until 1/4, now they go into the soft part of their ooc - rutgers, cornell, army

how about this, monmouth will enter selection sunday with over/under 7 losses?

Georgetown is 6-4 with a loss to Radford and Monmouth at home. Monmouth lost to Canisuis.

So that would mean 13-5 in the MAAC with non conference wins over UCLA, ND, Georgetown, USC (but not sure how good a win that is). Think they'd get an at large if thats the case.

7 is a very astute line. Could they get swept by Iona and lose to somebody like Canisus again and also have a slip up against the next 3 OOC games? Like I said if they don't win the MAAC automatic and are over 7 losses the committee rewards them. When Manahattan got an at large did they have OOC wins like this?

i counting the maac tourney into that line; a lot of the maac is really not good

Monmouth kicked their ass. Wow. I am very surprised. I wonder what Hoya fans are thinking about this collasal waste of talent.

Hard to figure how this team that should have beaten MD was the same one as tonite.

And fwiw, I was never impressed by Govan when I saw him in hs. I said I must have been missing something cause he was ranked so highly. And of course I was. He is pretty darned good.

I think it would depend on who they lose to in conf. Can't lose to the St Peters or Rider

Or Manhattan. You figure they have to have a slip up in conference though. And if they get picked off in the MAAC tourney, but still are regular season champs the NCAA committee has to take them instead of the automatic NIT? They have to be rewarded.

Monmouth will have three times the fans that RU will have. Not kidding on this.

They also lost to USC as well so that may not mean anything but the other wins are pretty impressive.

as always with the bubble, it will be different every year...we'll see where things are feb 15th

DVRed this and watched after my holiday party. Wow, Gtown just did not even show up tonight. Monmouth was lights out, but Gtown looked completely dead almost the entire game. I think if this game was scheduled earlier in the OOC they would have won. They clearly were looking past this game, which is crazy considering what Monmouth has done thus far. Overall for the conference I wish Gtown won, but this Monmouth team is real easy to root for. You seen the Michelangelo/Sistine Chapel bench celebration? I LOST it. The Hammer of Dill has been rediscovered in West Long Branch.

Monmouth missed their last 2 foul shots AND still made 31 of 37 ..away!

This is how you win games, especially how you win close games. This has been a major weakness for Seton Hall for years now. Cannot give up free points on the foul line.

Monmouth got better shots, played better defense, rebounded better and out hustled them. They took GU apart and answered every bell.

That's because the schools like GT and UCLA etc pay Monmouth to play them as they are supposed to be easy wins. Just as we pay St.Peters and Dartmouth...

And they may very well be in better position for the NCAA than us come March.
