Good Read

Seton Hall needs to decide what it wants to be athletically, at what level of competition it wants to play and hire a strong administrator with a vision and the skill to see that vision come to fruition. Right now we’re like a camel in the desert looking for a waterhole without any idea how to find one.

Maybe Goodman can push the Seton Hall poor NIL narrative some more to help facilitate another raise for Sha. Seems to be paying off.

King Rice said it best when he said that SHU has individual players who make more NIL money than his entire team.

Good for us!

The deeper point is Seton Hall is tone deaf. And now has a terrible product that won’t draw fans or donations. They’ll learn the hard way.
We are horrific right now. Will Sha be able to improve this group? I don't know. As fans we do tend to over-react. We're in a new era for college basketball and SHU has seemingly taken a quantum leap backward reaching a nadir for our program. But I think it's unfair to say the school was lackadaisical in this new milieu. A lot of money and effort has been put into making our team a perennial winner. Do we need to up our game by getting a general manager? I would say so.

Sha strong armed the school into giving him more money through Louisville agent posturing rather than using those funds to put a better product on the court. Selfishness. He should take a salary cut next year and actually put a decent roster together

if we haven't sent the funding to our guys i would pull it back. whats the worst they can do? leave? oh no!

NIL isn't going away so the only answer is to try harder. If those in charge aren't capable (or willing), replace them. Seton Hall is a higher learning institution that charges $50K+ a year for undergrad & grad degrees in Sports Management. Figure it out.

Well now schools + employees can contribute to NIL too per the new agreement.

Capped at $20M/yr! Shouldn’t be a problem for us! 🤣

The fundraising is only 1 part. How are we spending it? What are we paying Addae-Wusu, Dual, Toumi, and Aligbe?

Actually, that won't be an issue because we won't have to spend $20M. We do not have FB so our cost for just BB will be considerably lower.
This is a good point and a major competitive advantage for us and other Big East schools who don’t have football. It remains to be seen how much the NCAA is going to enforce non revenue sharing collective deals - if they enforce them, we will be in a much much better spot financially to be able to compete

For me, my meager NIL contribution will be going back to Pirates Blue next year provided PB funds will be used for NIL.

its not about saving SHU. college basketball as we knew and loved is over. its becoming nonexistent to me.

just take all the athletic money and move it to academics.

So what’s your answer? Do nothing except bitch on a message board that no one of any importance reads?
I have no answer for you but for me the answer is to turn my back and walk away. And that's what I've done with every sport I've ever followed. Money has ruined it for me. College basketball was my last gasp and now that's gone.

It’s not worth it. Honestly. We’re never going to compete for a final four. Even the 2020 team is a different world. Do you want to be like Rutgers and go into massive, endless debt with their football program that at best is a .500 team in conference?

We don’t have the money to buy a great team and sha’s coaching style of building up a roster over time and getting players to buy in like at St. Peter’s isn’t possible anymore. So yeah, we’re screwed outside of a one year miracle
