Groveling Works

I guess you were also opposed to all the preemptive pardons Biden gave to all his cronies and his family ?
I mean, yeah, I think blanket, preemptive pardons aren't a good thing. 👍

You're reminding me of this tweet back from when Twitter was a better website.

“When Twitter was a better website “…. Now that’s funny!

You've stated here many times that you don't use the site. How are you judging if it is better or worse?

At least Adams was the only one in his party to call Biden out on illegals.

Regardless of that though, he's as guilty (if not more so) than Menendez was. Not a good thing to let him off the hook.

Having read Musk’s biography and witnessing TwitterGuys 20,000 tweets before I Ignored him:). I don’t post on the site but I do follow a few things.

Now you’re being silly….Menendez was corrupt the day he was sworn into office and he’s a complete scumbag. At least Adams served honorably in NYPD.

I've been finding it is becoming less useful as a check in for current events, which is what I use it for. Musk just shit posts all day, like changing his name to Harry Bolz - and the feed gets crowded with his posts and reposts.

My experience was better before he took over.

When the opportunity arose for him to take advantage of a public position and accept free travel and illegal donations from Turkey, he jumped at it. He knew it was all illegal and kept doing it anyway and then acted on their behalf as mayor by pressuring the FDNY to let the consulate building pass their inspection. The indictment was very damming.

I don’t follow Musk on X for that one reason, that he posts a lot….i don’t have the time.

Twitter was a woke cesspool and Musk ripped that bandaid off. Willfully censoring things they disagreed with. Probably two of the most entertaining chapters in the biography.

But Menendez has been doing that for decades, and the people that he is linked to are total sleazebslls involving underage sex and Medicare fraud. Then they covered up a DUI death when his wife ran over a pedestrian.

Twitter is worse in essentially every way since Elon's purchase. He said he was going to get rid of bots and trolls - the site is saturated with bots now. He replatformed neo-nazis and white supremacists.

The site, app, and general platform all run worse than before he took over. The algorithm is trash, the user base has declined (bots notwithstanding ). Twitter/X has lost 80% of its value since Elon bought it in 2022.

So yes, it used to be a better website.

The second part about Adams being the only democrat to call out Biden - I guess you're exaggerating but this is flatly untrue.

+1 to this. I started using Twitter after Google killed Google Reader. It's lost its use as a way to stay informed.

How would you know? You don't use it.

typical whataboutism crowd expert mode

Corrupt, spineless weasel Eric Adams is off the hook.

You are way off base, he was targeted by the mob boss. Don’t agree with Adams but Biden exercise the power of government to get him for not falling in line with the democratic way.

Trump is corrupting the Justice Department. If you bend the knee to him, you can commit crimes and be pardoned or slap on the wrist. How anyone can condone this is beyond me.

Eric Adams if he did what is alleged, he needs to go to jail. Steve Bannon pled guilty to a first degree crime and is receiving a conditional discharge, no prison time for fraud. This is outrageous. This is transactional justice. Also, he signed an executive order to remove the bar of bribing foreign officials. This is lawlessness.

As a retired prosecutor, this disgusts me to my core. It’s not what you do, it’s about who you support.

Musk addresses the nation wants transparency to show American people how their money is being spent. Going to dig in on the defense dept. I believe lots of this board said that would never happen. Do not pay lists take a year to put in place paying politicians, terrorists etc…nobody wants him to proof it? Nobody on this board wants to cut waste? Are we ok with obsolete methods of accounting? Everyone Dems and republicans should be on board with cutting waste. Where are the adults in the room.

Constitutional crisis, threat to our democracy if I repeat he did what is alleged. Maybe he didn’t do as alleged. Play on words all a bunch of bs.

Charges are dismissed not because of evidence but because he bent the knee. This is not what justice is. Or better yet what this is really an example of “Just Us.”

What he is alleged to have done has to be proven in a court beyond a reasonable doubt. The court is the forum for that. You are losing all perspective.

All of these politicians are flawed, Biden didn’t like Adams questioning him. We need to ask ourselves if we want an open forum of discussion or everyone running the party line. For example the new buzz word is constitutional crisis. That phrase is being said over and over as a form of brain washing. It’s a coordinated attack. Is this what you want, and if you don’t follow the party line you wind up being investigated like Adams. Everyone can be accused of something. Do we really want to use the justice dept. to go after anyone who doesn’t follow the party line. I think we all are losing perspective. There’s a pattern going on here threat to our democracy, Russia collusion, lots of others. People are tiring of all this garbage.

Finding waste is great. But these expenditures and agencies are created by Congress. Congress is the only branch that can close an agency. What Trump and Musk have done is do away with the need for Congress and have torn up the Constitution. This, the biggest waste of money is the salaries and staffing of Congress since they have absolutely no authority now.

If you are fine throwing away 250 years of constitutional democracy, then you should be happy.

We need to go back to 2013, but I do agree with you not ideal. No bipartisanship left or very little even on common sense things like cutting waste. Said this before when the discussion changed from billions to trillions we lost our government, started with Bush and picked up steam with Obama.

President Obama delivers his State of the Union address Tuesday night to a joint session of Congress.

President Obama called repeatedly on Congress to address issues of paramount importance to the country during his State of the Union address Tuesday. But he also made it clear that when Congress fails to act or agree with his policies, he intends to push ahead on his own.
As is traditional for a State of the Union speech, Obama called on Congress to send legislation to his desk addressing not just immigration, gun control and the budget but a range of policy areas including women's rights, industrial policy and relief for homeowners.
In this, his fourth such address, a recurring refrain from the president was an admonition that Congress needs to act — even if it's only to vote "no."
Americans "don't expect those of us in this chamber to agree on every issue," Obama said. "But they do expect us to put the nation's interests before party."
But Obama gave Republicans very little to cheer, insisting on keeping entitlement spending at robust levels and calling on the wealthy to pay more in taxes.
Knowing many of his ideas are likely to receive a familiar cold shoulder from a divided Congress, Obama announced that he would move forward on a number of fronts, if only on his own.

If the technology was possible I would like to do away with congress and let registered tax payers vote from there phone. Congress does not represent the majority of voters. Bet we all would agree on more things, than not agree. Plus any laws passed would be brought up for a vote every 5 years as a check and balance. Time changes people also change.

Well, there is a process for that. It is called a Constitutional Amendment. Without it, this is just against the Constitution. Now, I disagree with you completely with abolishing Congress. When it is empowered, it works as a check of the authority of the Executive branch as the Founding fathers designed it to be.
