Terrific game by Kadary! 20 pts, 8 boards, 13 assists!! Wowzers and great to see.
I know Lappas said it was 11 straight but it wasn’t. Dawes had a 3 mixed in.As posted before, just enjoying watching the Kid play.
37 minutes -- 20 points ; 13 assists ( some just amazing ) ; 8 rebounds : 2 steals ( I counted more)
ONE turnover !!!!
But when Xavier was cutting lead ( about 8 minutes left) 11 straight points to put X to sleep .
What not to enjoy ?
Not sure if i ever saw him play better.Terrific game by Kadary! 20 pts, 8 boards, 13 assists!! Wowzers and great to see.
lol, sleepy Lappas as always.I know Lappas said it was 11 straight but it wasn’t. Dawes had a 3 mixed in.
The recipe to disrupt our offense was to go to the zone. For the first time last night, Kadary had his way. The ball movement was beautiful. I also loved Sha’s strategy of rotating Kadary to the middle to allow him to make the decision with the ball. In the past it had been Dre. Worked to perfection.A great game. When X switched to zone Kadary picked them apart. He was a magician when our wings fed him the ball near the foul line.
They had great movement on offense, guys going back and forth from under the basket to out pass the foul line and then back. Set a pick or cut back to the basket, great new look. We have ourselves a coach, NIL aside what kid doesn’t want to play for Sha. Money isn’t everything, never was and never will be for the right players. Read my last line carefully about right players. Our coach is a gift in a world of greed.Last night the team moved so well without the ball. They were cutting to the basket, running double screens and cutters and also back door cuts. When you have an elite distributor like Richmond it can pay big dividends but only if you have that off ball movement. Loved the zone strategy too. Fun night to watch the conductor and his band.
Not a fan of Lappas' constant babble. But I think in this case he was echoing what he was being told in his headset.lol, sleepy Lappas as always.
9 straight, Dawes 3, Kadary bucket. Great stretch as I believe KR assisted on the 3.
How many times through the years have we said here to optimize the offense you have to move the ball and trust your teammates? It's not rocket science. The best pass is the extra pass. If you don't believe that just ask Jay Wright. The recipe to disrupt our offense was to go to the zone. For the first time last night, Kadary had his way. The ball movement was beautiful. I love hearing Sha yell “MOVE!” when the offense gets stagnant. How many times through the years have we said here to optimize the offense you have to move the ball and trust your teammates? It's not rocket science. The best pass is the extra pass. If you don't believe that just ask Jay Wright.
I don’t think it was Lappas. I think it was the play-by-play guy.Not a fan of Lappas' constant babble. But I think in this case he was echoing what he was being told in his headset.
Ball and player movement is the key. Again, how many times over the years have we preached the obvious here?I love hearing Sha yell “MOVE!” when the offense gets stagnant.
I remember watching an early game with my son when he was home for Thanksgiving. We were both excited to see the game. He went to NYU but is a lifelong SHU fan. When he was a kid, he was brainwashed to think the best player in the world was MJ, and Dehere was next lol. Anyway, the game starts, he watches a few possessions, and then asks "Dad, does anyone ever move?" I bet a bunch of us asked that same question. Gotta keep that John Mayal spirit going!Ball and player movement is the key. Again, how many times over the years have we preached the obvious here?
Kadary was great last night, but you have to wonder why you don't get a consistent effort from him. You see what he can do like last night, then you see games like Villanova where he looks like he'd rather be anywhere else. I get that we're all human, but such wild swings in focus can't happen at this level. Every player is going to have bad games every now and then, but it's your effort and focus in those bad games that separates the good ones from the great ones. I feel it's all or nothing with him, and that leads to the erratic performances and wild swings we've seen from this team since he is the most important player.
It was like Xavier was wearing UConn jerseys!!Not sure if i ever saw him play better.
It’s incredible how straightforward this is yet how difficult it’s been for this team to stick with at times. Plus the lack of depth kills is here bc you can’t turn to anyone when the starters are out of it for some reason. How many times through the years have we said here to optimize the offense you have to move the ball and trust your teammates? It's not rocket science. The best pass is the extra pass. If you don't believe that just ask Jay Wright.
It’s perplexing. But some guys are just like this. In fact it was a major storyline all offseason with the commitment he put in. I can’t imagine asking out of games without a specific injury. Whew.Kadary was great last night, but you have to wonder why you don't get a consistent effort from him.
