Duke has had many big time alums help them get players for decades. Is there a chance TA had great connections with those alums and they helped Tommy with bags of money? Tommy was a beloved son of Duke no different than what Sha is to SHU. Im sure there are Duke people who wanted TA to succeed wherever he went. I’m sure there are SHU alums who wanted Sha to succeed at SPU and would help if they could. We don’t have excess resources. Duke does. The drop off of SHU recruiting happened the second TA left. I wonder if some of the items to land top recruits was coming from TA’s connections, not so much SHU connections.

This team and staff deserve criticism but stating that the season is done already and piling on the negativity aren’t marks of a true Pirates fan. I have been a Pirate fan through thin and thin and whatever their performance on the court, they are my team and won’t be abandoned because of a few bumps in the road. This team can’t shoot foul shots or threes but so far have shown no quit. I wish that some of our wobbly kneed fans had the same attribute. Go Pirates!

Lot of "wondering.... is there a chance" and speculation. Recruiting fell off significantly when low-profile coaches Orr and Gonzalez (a true head case) followed.

But if you believe bags of cash win the day, and I do, it’s funny how it the recruiting went very south so quick. Another theory is Koz and Brennan, but truth is they didn’t go away the second Amaker left us.
