Huge UCONN FB win

Wow, I really don’t follow CFB all that closely but I remember a few years ago UConn was the dreg of D-1. 9-4 season is very impressive.

They are getting better, but that was a "ghost" of a UNC team they beat today. Their two best "wins" this year are probably their relatively close losses to Duke and Syracuse.

Yes it is impressive but you have to look at the competition/schedule. Their seven wins came against competition that won 24 games between them. Little more then three wins per team from the likes of Florida Atlantic, Georgia State, Rice, Temple, UMESS, UAB. Not exactly top level football powerhouse competition. The win over NC (who looks like they quit today) was their first win over a quality Power Conference win in a long time.

All true, but holding their own (and more) yesterday at Fenway allows the ACC to rationalize UCONN football to get men's and women's basketball. And UCONN's small fb facility doesn't stand out as much in ACC as it would in other major conferences.

UConvicts were a heavy fav at The Book due to location of the bowl & a pathetic opponent. Not a surprising W. At least I won $$$ on them since SH this season is off limits.

Huge win that nobody but UConn fans care about. The ACC is not adding UConn so conference teams can make less money. The ACC is locked into their TV deal for a while. Not happening as much as UConn football fans want it to.

True, on the other hand getting eight FBS wins is a huge step forward for the team. They beat the teams that they were supposed to beat and beat them pretty comfortably. When they played P4 teams, they got crushed once, lost by one score 3 times (including to #21 ranked Syracuse) and beat UNC in a bowl game. By any reasonable metric, that's great progress.
