I Thought You Had To Be Vaccinated

All of these things that you just listed myocarditis/blood clots have a higher risk of occurring when you are infected with covid vs the vaccine. It is not even close. If they were truly concerned about those things taking the vaccine is the best thing you can do for yourself because it does lower you risk of getting infected in the first place. Your statement about experimental drugs is also not true. Pfizer has been fully approved for awhile now so you can't say it is an experimental drug. The vaccines have more than enough data to show they work very well.
Where is the long term data on these “vaccines”? It doesn’t exist. No one should be forced to take any drug they do not want! Period!

Sorry, it was Richmond and Weston. Here's the paragraph. It doesnt say how they determine residency:

Seton Hall and the other visiting teams who play games at the Garden this year (including Duke, Kentucky, Kansas and Michigan State for the Champions Classic Nov. 9) won’t have to provide proof of vaccination, with the exception of those players who live in New York City. The Pirates have two players listed on their roster from New York: Syracuse transfer Kadary Richmond and freshman wing Brandon Weston are both listed as Brooklyn natives

Unless they are commuters I believe they are currently residing in South Orange.

Hi moderators. How is this not on LOTS? Or do covid threads only get locked/moved to LOTS when I talk about covid? Bias?

Most college students maintain residency where they are from / parents live, just easier than changing all your information, so that is technically where they reside even though they live at college most of year.

Back to basketball, this sounds like it could be an issue potentially on several levels, depending what the rules and restrictions are over the next few months. I’m far from a COVID alarmist, but the reality is there are going to be varying rules that teams and players probably need to adhere to.

And if that's true, it is going to be hilarious to watch how certain blue-goggled posters react to that given the views they espouse on mandatory vaccinations and restrictions on LOTS.
I will respect their decision. Would be disappointed if people don’t.

That is also not true. Depends on what it is it you want to know about vaccines. We have been developing mRNA technology for DECADES. You may not have heard about it because science is usually not at the forefront of headlines but we have plenty of LONG TERM DATA in regards to mRNA. I think a lot of people think that since in the past vaccines have taken a decade to make that scientists have put out a vaccine that has not been properly tested and that could not be further from the truth. The reason vaccines previously took so long to make was not so we could observe clinical trials for a decade and see what happens. It was because they did not have the capabilities/money to mass produce the vaccine as well as the large number of volunteers. The mRNA technology was developed so they could easily sequence a virus and plug it into the vaccine very quickly. They also had a huge amount of volunteers and massive amount of money for the government.

Scientists worked hard over decades so that that God forbid a pandemic happened they wouldn't have to wait a decade to create a vaccine but could do it in a manner of months so that more people wouldn't die. We have almost 2 years worth of data that show the vaccine works. Millions of people have been inoculated outside of clinical trials and you don't get more accurate data than that.

When you say long term effects I think you are confusing vaccines with medication. Vaccines don't cause issues ten years down the line so if you are waiting just to see what happens you may be putting your own life at risk. Medicines you may be taking on daily basis and for sure may lead to chronic issues, which is why they are under a different standard than vaccines. mRNA is very unstable and doesn't even stay in your body long. The overwhelming majority of side effects(in all vaccines) occur a few months after and since we have been observing for a year and a half with no major side effects there is your long term data that the vaccine is safe.

Think of vaccines like an iPhone. The iPhone technology took years to develop, but now they come up with different versions every few months. Do you worry if the next version is going to keep your passwords/credit cards safe? Science improves over time and we are able to speed up development of new products. Doesn't mean it is not safe.

I would bring it back to BB though. Isn’t this a potential huge issue for the team or am I just paranoid because of all this COVID stuff?
It seems, if the article is correct, there’s no issues with unvaccinated player playing in games. So I guess it comes down to whatever the situation is with the University.
