Interesting profile on Ohio State athletic donation

For those who don't naturally have "multiples" of Excel sheets open and who don't see the harm in spending 30 seconds on one more, that is a range of $400,676,000 to $1,316,175,347 or potentially more if the + in the $5,000,000+ adds up to more than those contributing more than the bottom end of a range like the $1MM+ level that my 30 second effort made equal to $1,000,000 - $4,999,999. In total, that is 9,470 people who collectively outspent SHU's entire university endowment ($318MM in 2022 according to a quick Google search) just for OSU athletics in one year.

This could also be a bit overstated if the counts in the higher levels are also included in the counts of the lower levels. I treated all as unique as a reasonable assumption given that there are 25 $5MM+ individuals while only 12 at the $50K level. Even with that, our coffers are obviously miniscule to the money being generated by the top earning schools.

That’s what happens when your fundraising efforts suck!

I haven't had my coffee yet, so maybe I am looking at this wrong. The way I am reading show the 3 Top Priority levels as total lifetime contributions and the others lines are individual contributions for 2024.

It is still a massive amount of money either way, as the annual contributions alone total 20+ million for 2024.

Agreed.

But the annual giving could have some whales in there as well.

I thought donations to the schools are part of the overall revenue the school can allocate to the players going forward (up to 20.5M per year).

I am not sure how it works, but Ohio St athletics reported $38M deficit in '24.
