To be fair, you can’t use that line against Kamala because everyone she surrounds herself with is more intelligent and stronger than she is. Sadly that incudes Biden

He was trying to make the case that Trump initiated inflation during the pandemic by cutting a deal with his “oil company cronies” and how he handled healthcare. Just google “NewsNation Town Hall Cuban” and there are several links available.

Saw a clip, I’ll watch the rest at some point, but there is some truth to what he is saying. Inflation was going to be an issue no matter who won in 2020. It started to increase well before Biden came into office. Oil prices were a part of that and Trump did press Saudi’s to reduce production so prices would go up to help US oil companies.

Trump did handle the pandemic poorly. He did say if we stopped testing, we’d have few cases while sending Russia machines to help them test.

No amount of tempoorizing or moralizing can blame trump for the 20% rise in prices under Biden.I think Mark should lower himself and debate Kayleigh McEnany a Harvard law graduate I know he considers her dumb but I think she would clean his clock.Come on Mark man up.

Sitting today at a point where rages outpaced inflation, unemployment is at historic lows, the stock market is at record highs etc... The economy has been managed quite well over the last 4 years given we had to deal with coming out of the worst pandemic of any of our lives, and a war in Ukraine which caused a global supply shock in energy and food prices.

The problem is that you want someone to blame rather than understanding the environment and considering alternatives.
Inflation was going to occur over the last 4 years no matter who was president.

You have to consider what would have happened had we not propped up the economy during the pandemic. Employment would have been worse, wages would have been worse, the markets would have been worse. etc... but the price of eggs would have been lower so that's good?

If Kamala loses Cuban will be the first to jump ship and criticized her. She was bashed from both sides and had a very low approval prior to be ordained by the Dems to run. She will be in a bad spot if she loses, actually this whole election process she’s been in a bad spot. Shoulda, woulda, coulda. People like Cuban and Biden are not doing her any favors making stupid comments. People are tired of folks like Cuban, big mouth does nothing to help. Elon could be in the same spot as Cuban but he’s an agent of change and has agreed to run the Dept. of efficiency. I would not be surprised to actually see that happen. He at least is taking an active role in helping to solve our deficit problem.

Merge I remember you saying for certain it was transitory. Sorry to remind you of your numerous posts back several years ago but you are speaking talking points now, which by the way you do very well. I mean that in a complimentary fashion. Again day one cancelling the Keystone pipeline deal and then approving the Russian pipeline to Germany helped cause inflation. Give Biden some credit for making decisions that help escalate inflation. There’s a reason the wealthy rich and famous are 100% democratic. I do agree with you it could have been worse, but was the 1.7 inflation reduction act really necessary. What is the plan now to offset what was done. No plans to cut only spend. The days of Bill Clinton are over, new Dems are for crash and burn policies.

It is interesting that the surrogates that are out there pushing each candidate. Politiciaally, Harris has the Obama’s and to a lesser degree the Clinton’s, but she is relying on celebrities. Where is Newsom, Pritzger, Shapiro, Buttigieg, Murphy, etc.? Outside of a few one-off’s, they’ve been pretty invisible. I know, Liz Cheney but that’s been recent and short.

Trump has Musk with him, and now RFK, and to a lesser degree Rubio and others. It’s really about Trump. I haven’t seen much in the way of surrogates campaigning in PA, unless they are here for another candidate. (Haley was here last week with McCormick.)

PA has been interesting. The senate race is tightening and Casey is distancing himself from Biden/Harris, but I think that he still wins. Harris is in Allentown on Monday so will compare the reception to Trump’s (this past Tuesday).

Here is what I said to you in November 2021 -

Nice fearmongering but that is not what is happening in the US. We have short term inflation as a result of the pandemic, supply chain issues and people having more money to spend. Inflation is expected to decline in 2022.

What I did not expect at the time was global supply shocks from a war in Ukraine impacting energy and food prices.

First 6 months of 2022 - 10% (annualized
second 6 months of 2022 - 2.8% (annualized)

Again day one cancelling the Keystone pipeline deal and then approving the Russian pipeline to Germany helped cause inflation.

That's just not accurate though. The keystone pipeline would not have even been operation until 2023. Cancelling the contract as US oil was booming and hit a record for most oil ever produced in 2023.

Give Biden some credit for making decisions that help escalate inflation.

Indeed I do, inflation was necessary evil of money printing (part of which was Trump btw) which propped up our economy and kept us from collapsing. Had we not done that, the debate today would be about how Biden let the economy collapse instead of the price of eggs.

We managed coming out of the pandemic quite well compared to other countries. Biden should get some credit there.
