NEW YORK – Seton Hall freshman guard Jada Eads was named both the BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Player and Freshman of the Week, announced on Monday. In a 69-49 victory at Butler, Eads scored a career-high 26 points for her fourth-straight game finishing with double digits.

Eads Named BIG EAST Player and Freshman of the Week​

NEW YORK – Seton Hall's Jada Eads (Orlando, Fla.) was named BIG EAST Women's Basketball Player of the Week and BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on Monday.

It's the second time she's received BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors this season.

With the Pirates down two starters due to injuries, Eads again rose to the occasion in Seton Hall's first BIG EAST road game of the season on Sunday. The freshman collected a career-high in scoring for a fourth-consecutive game, going for 26 points on 10-for-19 shooting, including 3-for-6 from three-point range. Eads also had four steals and three rebounds as Seton Hall defeated Butler, 69-49, in Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Members of the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll include: Creighton's Lauren Jensen, Connecticut's Paige Bueckers, DePaul's Taylor Johnson-Matthews, Georgetown's Kelsey Ransom and Marquette's Halle Vice.

Seton Hall will return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 1 when it heads to Villanova. Tip time is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET. The game will be televised nationally on FS1.
